I'm being serious. I really don't get it.
Because what we believe as Americans is that we are all ensured liberty and justice. The arm of justice that is the police force is failing people.
Eric Reid says he feels that kneeling is a respectful position of mourning. They are mourning the unjust deaths at the hands of the police and the failure to uphold liberty and justice for all.
It's at a football game because they are football players. Like Tommie Smith and John Carlos before them at the '68 Olympics. (Obviously not football players but the protest is similar)

I expect the police, with proper training, and with lethal force at their disposal, to be better than we expect ourselves to be.

People are taking it so far out of context about using the word "disrespect." You ever been to a BBQ that had American flag plates? You have some American flag boxers? etc...That by law is deemed disrespectful but yet says nothing about kneeling, these are notions we as people find disrespectful to ourselves.

People who want to criticize police and their training don't realize how hard it is to make a split second decision that can control result in someone's death, most of you never have had to make that decision and I hope you never do. But heres an interesting video. Let me know if it works, copying the url from my phone to desktop

Don't tell me what insults me. When you say "them," it groups us as a whole, "some" would be a better usage.

Here's the thing, this may just be a theory at the moment....but veterans, from all over the country (and world) have different view points and beliefs. So what doesn't offend/insult me (good luck finding something that does) may offend/insult others, crazy I know

That's crazy talk. You mean to tell me large groups of people have different opinions. haha
I swear people have looked at me like I have 3 heads this week. I've been yelled at from both sides of the argument because I think kneeling during the anthem is unpatriotic and not unifying but somehow I'm not allowed to wear Ravens gear or watch football now or I will be supporting what they did and I'm not a true American.

Also, it does not matter what they think in regards to him faking it. It should be their duty to act as if he is in need of medical assistance to prevent this.
Well considering there are over 12 million arrests each year, you're gonna have to come up with a lot more.

Ive always felt the same. A lot of gun enthusiasts will tell you they train in similar fashion, or have experience (military/police/etc) so those expectations arent very different. I dont really believe the typical gun owner does that, even if they should. If that were the case, we really need to focus on better training for those in those positions, but its a multi-faceted problem. frankly theres people signing up to be LEOs that do not have the disposition to be such. the supply and demand of good police officers is more of a problem in this than anything imo. it takes a certain type to be calm under pressure and in an aggravated situation, but in a lot of cases were hiring people not for their ability or qualifications but just because of their pulse. That doesnt make for a great police force imo.
wheres HR when you need him? miss our debates.

Politics in America today:
Sane person: I bought coffee this morning.
Insane person: Technically, your wife bought the coffee.
Sane person: My wife used the $10 I gave her to buy the coffee.
Insane person: But, you said "you" bought the coffee, but she bought it for you.
Sane person: What does it matter? I'm drinking the coffee that I paid for.
Insane person: When you said you bought the coffee, you inferred that you actually made the purchase. You didn't so, you were lying.
Sane person: Why does this matter?
Insane person: You're a bigot!
