Re: Boldin says he will retire if released (Merged)
From my perspective, I think the question concerning Boldin's tenure should be, can he do what he's been doing for another year or two? Watching him on TV, it looks to me like he's showing no signs of limping into the end of the season, more that he's a strong, reliable and reasonably healthy 32 year old receiver who very likely has another two years of quality "fuel" left in the tank. It sounds as if he really wants to end his career with the Ravens, and without debating the hometown discount issue, I'd guess he (and hopefully his agent) will work with Ozzie and the FO to make something happen for the team and him.

Yeah, pretty powerful stuff from Q. It's one thing to see it in writing, but when you hear it, you can tell he's not just saying it to say it.
With what Jacoby said last night and Q today, well as Jacoby said last night........SWEET!

Anquan Boldin is one of my all time favorite players! I hope this bodes well for an extension. Boldin plays BALL SO HARD !
Re: Boldin says he will retire if released
Looking at the "unsettled" positions on O, I'd rank Boldin second only to a solid LT, McKinnie or A.N.Other.

A 3 year/$15M deal with a $6M bonus (and base salaries of $1M, $3M, $5M) makes sense to me. It give Boldin $7M next year, instead of the $6M he's presently set to make - which should be enticing to him - and would reduce his 2013 Cap hit by $3M.
His 2014 Cap number would be a reasonable $5M.
The 3rd year would just be fluff and he could be released with only $2M in dead money that could much more easily be dealt with at that point.
I'm sold.
