Imagine the 2000 defense with the 2012 offense. 19-0 is what would happen.
I don't know about undefeated, this year's offense has been lackluster in many road games.
But they'd be a lock to win the title. ;)
Billick was awesome "Fuck em all. Put that in NFL Films" haha
Maybe I should have said the 2013 offense
I'll tell you what there are a lot of similarities between the 2000 Ravens and the 2012 Ravens.
Any other NFLN frequenters tired of the damn 'wax vac' commercials? That has got to be the stupidest commercial/product combo ever.
sad to say that, after 12 years, you STILL get some people calling Ray Lewis a murderer and other vile things...
At the time, it didn't seem like a big storyline, but one of the most ironic storylines in that Super Bowl was Trent Dilfer, a high 1st round pick of the Buccaneers in 1994, who left the franchise for the Ravens in 2000, coming back to Tampa to play in a Super Bowl. I don't know if Tampa tried to retain him (I don't think they did, but I did note that he set a franchise record for wins by a QB), but certainly for Tampa to see a guy, one year removed from moving on, now coming back and playing in his old home stadium for a SB ring...yeesh, can you imagine if the Super Bowl was in Baltimore in 2009 and Kyle Boller was the starting QB of one of the teams? Trent is giddy after the win in Oakland, much like Ed was, and he's going "well at least I know all the good restaurants down there!"
And again weird to look at what happened with Jim Fassel. After being fired years later from the Giants, comes here as an Offensive Consultant, then Offensive Coordinator, then fired mid-season in 2006, statistically one of our best years. Another heavily scrutinized move, he was fired when the Ravens were 4-2 or 6-2 i think.
i was lucky enough to catch this in a bar since i don't have NFLN. I forgot ho much of a force billick was. he was truly a leader and a great match for that team. i don't see him coaching again because i think he has lost that fire.
I would make a point to watch it if I didn't already have that and a bunch of other stuff on video from that season, including the playoff games and 8 regular seasons games. Still looking for the other 8 games.
