In all seriousness, though, perhaps I was a bit brash in my celebrations. I may not agree with their social values, but the Republicans made this a hard-fought contest.
This was the first presidential election in which I voted, and honestly the first one I've cared about. I'm happy "my guy" won.
Re: Election Day 2012 Thread
I generally don't view this board, but figured I'd check it tonight. Personally I'm pretty happy with the night's outcomes, and for those on the right that are upset, you may content yourselves by considering that Obama is more similar to a moderate Republican of past years than a socialist, http://www.slate.com/articles/news_a...h_the_gop.html
PS. Also pretty happy that question 6 seems to have passed. Now my female friend who used to beat the crap out of me in pickup football in college can marry her girlfriend for real in her home state.
Re: Election Day 2012 Thread
I will say, Mitt had a pretty classy concession speech. Few veiled barbs in there, but overall, well done.

No, just not classless.

Not. Gonna. Happen.
They have no choice but to make a deal. If they don't by the end of the year the bush tax cuts expire and automatic cuts go into effect. Neither side wants that and the republicans have more to lose.

They'd be crazy NOT to put him and Rubio on the ticket because demographics are only going to shift more to the Hispanics and moderates and the Dems will have someone like Clinton, Warren, or one the hotshot Hispanic twins from Texas on theirs. Btw obama can't do much worse, the house is still red and the debt ceiling/cliff stuff will be solved shortly. After that businesses won't have that uncertainty anymore and should start revving up hiring.
Hell, one guy said Rubio will be the main guy nominated for the next
ticket. Either him or Ryan. He said GOP looks bright with a bunch
of young guys that were just 2 years away this time.
But I'll probably vote Libertarian again.
He mentioned those two plus some guy from Texas and someone
else I never heard of.
He didn't mention Christie at all.
I've said all summer Romney was a terrible campaigner and so was OBY who out lasted him and got help from a hurricane. Romney was the best of the worse lot. No one else with experience. Santorum? Nobody ever heard of him.

And how about the libbies name calling of the entire GOP field when it
came out. The libbies have a guy who mock Christ on his every
post and you always omit your own.
I've shown class here tonight toward you on this thread
by agreeing with you on the gay question saying it would be
passed and it was also agreeing with you on the Priest thread
when you said there should be a better title. I said you were right.
Then you turn around and slap me just now.

No, I think we can definitively leave it at "thin-skinned."
Because you likely wouldn't have said anything if a board member had come on to revel in an Obama loss.
