They had no business letting 18 horses run.
They had no business sending them off in that quagmire.
They don’t give a damn about the horses or the jockeys.
I thought the DQ was appropriate.
I'm not qualified to have an opinion.
Here's what Andrew Beyer thought:
Way too many horses! I believe The Preakness and Belmont Stakes have a limit. The Derby field is too crowded and can have accidents or DQs... Bc
I believe the 1968 DQ of Dancer's Image was literally the first reversal, depending upon whether you consider a DQ to be a reversal:

After the favorite was scratched the day after he was sold, I don't see how it's possible to be confident there's no fix. Whole sport is bullshit, predatory, abusive, and predetermined. It has a higher incident of spinal injury for riders than football and for many it exists as a vessel on which to gamble. I spend 2 minutes watching horse racing the last 10+ months, an hour later it's like why did I even watch it, what I saw had no connection to the final results.
Too many horses
Good call to take down the winner
Really I 'm just glad there wasn't a pileup. That was close to being a disaster.
Surprised there isn’t more backlash. I do expect a lawsuit
I don't have comment on the outcome, but horse racing should be banned, just like Greyhound racing is being banned in many places. In a better world, it would have been ended after Barbaro. However, humanity can't help themselves when it comes to abusing animals.
I'll get off my soapbox now :)
