That was weak writing
To be fair, you piss off the wrong higher ups, they don't care. We would know this as Harbs Doghouse.

Lol true. But he had to have leave days he could have taken right? But then I guess there's no movie if thats the case. Or the movie stars the balding guy working next to Gylenhall lol

Well, Gyllenhaal's character doesn't seem like he wants days off, even if he's behind a desk rather than door kicking. I was thinking of End of Watch the entire time

Re: OT - The Movies/TV thread
So after 15 years we get the long awaited prequel to The Sopranos, ie Many Saints of Newark.
*Spoiler Free* Pretty let down to be honest. Good acting imo, but the story doesn't really go the direction we were lead to believe in a sense, which is pretty unsatisfying. I feel like they tried to make it more complex than it needed to be by adding in outside story lines rather than keeping it about the family. This is definitely something that needed to be 5-8 episodes to really deliver and build the characters. I think most will be let down by this sadly

I actually loved it. Great cast, great acting.
I agree it should have been a series and it was a bit misleading from trailers because I expected it to be tony sopranos story but it was more focused on dicky moltasante.
The angle of Italian mob .vs the African American mob felt bit strange and forced as it didn’t put much emphasis on it. The strangest part was Ray liota playing two characters.
The actor, who played Sill, Tony’s mom & Junior nailed it. Junior was not in it much and that was unexpected.
Jon bernthal as big Tony was great. The actress who played dickys mistress was absolutely gorgeous.
The ending really pissed me off. Left wanting so much more.

It was very well done, I was just wanting more of Young Tony and the family, adding the black mafia just took away time we got from the main story line which is where i think it went off the track for me, as i said, this would of been a fantastic mini series.
Re: OT - The Movies/TV thread
Rewatched ladykillers last night and it's still funny. Those last 30 minutes to end the movie is a masterpiece.

It's great. Every line by Tom Hanks alone is just fun to hear.

It gets absolutely brutal as you see areas outside Boston.
