    Re: Sat. night QB accuracy

I will say that having Megatron, or White and Jones will help a QB a great deal.

Amazing what a 3 game losing streak does to a fanbase...

So does having Rice. And so does having a good defense, especially if you are going to talk about team wins.

Rice and the defence don't go up and come down with balls in double, or even triple coverage. Megatron is a freak of nature. White and Jones open up all sorts of options between them. In terms of receiving options Ryan as a deeper group, Stafford has been average at best this year but Megatron catches everything in sight.

You missed the point. No one said Rice and the defense do what Megatron does. And therefore I won't point out the obvious and say Megatron doesn't intercept opposing QBs the play after Stafford throws a costly pick thereby giving Stafford another chance to be a hero. Yes, Megatron is a freak of nature.

Give credit where it's due, Ryan was a machine last night and Stafford was sharp. But they do have great receivers and those weren't worldbeating defenses

In no way am I comparing Flacco to Boller...but OriAl went down swinging with Boller and that "if Boller had an OL" stuff all the way until he left as a free agent.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

He'd have been better with better pass blocking, and more than one reliable receiver. Flacco, who is better than Boller, would be better than he's been with better protection. Tom Brady wouldn't be as good as he is without the protection he gets.

Joe can stop the insanity today with a good game. That is all it will take.

No it won't. It will be the receivers or rice that gets credit. Bank on it.

He probably wouldn't have been great, but he had a number of games where he had better protection and did quite well.

The problem with Boller was Billick deciding he could take a raw talent and just shove it under center.
