Re: 2013 NFL Scouting Combine Thread
Patterson may not have done well in his interviews, but he displayed natural athleticism that some coach is going to fall in love with. You can't teach a 6'2" 210lb receiver to run like that.
With the way some of these receivers have been performing, I could see a run on receivers in round 1, which would push guys like Ogletree, Te'o, and Minter down a bit.Disclaimer: The content posted is of my own opinion.

Yamon Figurs was fast too though. You can not coach toughness into a guy either really. I doubt he is tough enough to be a return man, but not Tavon Austin. He is the new Peppers. Even with his workout today, there is still a good chance he will slip down far enough to trade up without giving up a ton.
For years I have been hoping the Ravens could find a guy to fill that Sproles role in the O that SD was scoring all those points with. A guy that can score on any touch is a guy you need on your team. I have said for a while now that Austin has Barryfreaking Sanders feet. He got moves slide like grease.

I'm loving all the Tavon Austin talk. If the Ravens decided to trade up or back to somehow snag him, I'd be beside myself. I absolutely hate the idea of him playing for any other team; he's gonna be a star. Many people don't realize that there were multiple games this year where Tavon WAS WVUs offense. He single-handedly almost won us a couple games where Geno completely shit the bed. That's damn impressive for a slot receiver.
Need a clutch kick return? Tavon does it.
Need a change of pace at RB (maybe not in the NFL) Tavon does it.
Need to stretch the opponents' D? Give it to Tavon.
He's as sure handed as it gets, has amazing field vision, and his speed speaks for itself. He's the real deal. GUYS WE COULD ACTUALLY RUN THE END AROUND SUCCESSFULLY!

Dunbar high school just got a new football field this year... Tavon Austin played at Dunbar on a patch of dirt a block away from the federal and central booking. East Baltimore is a hard place to grow up.
For his own safety and peace...
Hope he plays us in the AFC but I hope he moves away.

i'm going to stop watching any more Austin videos because then i won't feel as bad when he's drafted before we pick.

I'm pretty much on the Austin bandwagon. I thought he was overrated and we would get more value drafting bailey, but I was wrong to say the least. I guess I thought he wasn't worth a first, but this is the player joe needs to continue to progess. He would be a phenomenal compliment to the weapons we currently have. If he reaches the 20s our biggest competition will be New England even though they only have 5 picks this year.

Re: 2013 NFL Scouting Combine Thread
I could see the Bears making a run at him too.
Off topic but this is my favorite stat line of his on the season:
Against #12 Oklahoma: 21 carries, 344 yards 2 TD
4 rec., 82 yards
PLUS, 8 kick returns for 146 yards and another TD.
I believe that was the only game of the season where he got serious carries at RB. This is one of the games I was referring to where he just completely took over. He honestly starting getting a good bit of Heisman hype after this, but too little too late. Stedman is a great receiver too, has sticky pads for hands, but I'm not sure how his game is gonna translate to the NFL. He doesn't have burner speed but he catches everything thrown his way and torched#1 DBs all season.
