Re: Kamalei Correa , 1 snap.
I guess the question will remain why did we outsmart ourselves by trying to draft an OLB/DE and project him to be an ILB when Myles Jack was sitting there who is an actual ILB and played one in college.
It netted us Matt Joudon......who is OK I guess. But not worth throwing away a pick on Correa.

Correa adds to the theory that if I'm high on you, you probably suck lol

Re: Kamalei Correa , 1 snap.
I still don't believe they projected him at ILB. They say that now but I don't think they believe he can play the edge. Just too overmatched and it was painfully obvious. Obviously, I am guessing. But so is everyone else who's guessing that the plan all along was to convert him to ILB.
Whether the coaches [Pees] gave him enough of a chance is an open question, but it was obvious they quickly soured on him playing OLB. This was reinforced when the drafted Tim Williams and Tyus Bowswer in '17.

Re: Kamalei Correa , 1 snap.
What a disappointment. And I'm not surprised. I never, never liked that pick with what was left on the board.
Meanwhile, Myles Jack is starting to blossom, Michael Thomas is on pace for a 100 catch season and to be fair another guy I really wanted, Noah Spence hasn't been able to stay healthy, but has played well when he has.
I will always think the staff tried to out think themselves with that pick.Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Kamalei Correa , 1 snap.
That’s all he did at Boise don’t take my word for it go watch his games. I seen plenty of Correa being in this area in the WAC. Correa plays one speed, downhill, he’s not a read and react guy, he’s not a guy who has good lateral movement, he’s not going to out Jump someone. He’s a pass rusher and an edge player. I liked the pick because I thought he was going to be a pass rusher and when they decided to move him I told everyone he was struggle and look now? They never even tried him at his natural position they moved him inside from day one. They clearly misuse him and the scouts clearly mid-judged him. The problem with Correa at OLB is that he can’t shed his blocks. Same problem he has as an ILB.
