Re: Democrats: Fight Anything Trump, Republicans Put Forward
...after all that copying and pasting, the government grew and the economy didn't...
Barry combined comprehensive government regulation of private businesses with a steadily enlarging public sector. Explain to me how that isn't socialism at its core? His legacy is a socialistic program of medical care redistribution.
When BHO was running against HRC in 2007/2008, the MSM didn't talk about any of his connections to radical groups such as ACORN, UNO of Chicago, the Midwest Academy, and the Socialist Scholars Conferences or his years at Columbia. Didn't Barry used to quote Saul Alinsky in his speeches? I remember that Saul Alinsky's son actually wrote a letter to Obama about how he was faithfully following his father's legacy. It's all there if you want to acknowledge it. Most don't because it doesn't paint a flattering portrait of him...neither does the portrait he just had done. Lol.
I didn't expect to be debating this topic this morning. It's fun though. Good shit HbgPARavenfan.Last edited by ravenmaniac4life; 02-13-2018 at 01:34 PM.

Re: Democrats: Fight Anything Trump, Republicans Put Forward
Thats a pretty broad view of socialism tho. By that definition you could argue we've been a socialist country for decades. Thats basically all Im saying. He wast vastly different than the majority of sitting presidents, particularly democrats.
His legacy is obamacare, but its likely going to be footnote in history, like his entire presidency outside of he was the 1st black president honestly. He really didnt accomplish any of the major things he claimed he represented. (for good or bad depending on preference)
I dont recall the democratic primaries to be honest, but I know there were concerns over some of his affiliations. I can see why thats alarming, but again...once he became president...he basically fell in line with what most presidents try to do...not rock the boat, hope the economy is favorable, give speaches about how we're doing great, but could be doing much better if the other party wasnt in the way.
I think once time (years) gives us some distance, obama wont be the boogey man. He was a pedestrian president, but he was the last president, so he's the enemy until there is a Next - last presidentBurn it down

Re: Democrats: Fight Anything Trump, Republicans Put Forward
Not at all.
A FREE market grows and thrives. Look what's happening now. That's capitalism to a tee and it's a beautiful thing. It's why we have the strongest economy on earth and that's one of the reasons people float on trash for thousands of miles to come live here.
A heavily REGULATED market doesn't grow...and it didn't when Barry was in charge. Isn't that the actual definition of socialism? The means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated...

Re: Democrats: Fight Anything Trump, Republicans Put Forward
To be fair, under Obama, we kept hearing about the need for infrastructure spending, how it had always been bipartisan before, and how the Republicans were blocking it, so yes, it is basically the pendulum swinging the other way.

Re: Democrats: Fight Anything Trump, Republicans Put Forward
Didn't an infrastructure bill pass in Congress in 2015? Didn't the GOP oppose the initial plan that uncle Bernie put forth, but eventually the 2 sides hammered out a deal? This was almost 4 years ago...but I recall something was eventually passed.
There's always gonna be back and forth on this shit, because that's the way the system is setup. However, there is no chance that GOP will get bipartisan support on anything they push forward...even after the 2 sides have their traditional back and forths. That's what their courageous leader is telling them.Last edited by ravenmaniac4life; 02-13-2018 at 03:58 PM.

Re: Democrats: Fight Anything Trump, Republicans Put Forward
I stopped paying close attention to the inner workings of deals probably around 2012 ish. But recall there were several deals they were able to hammer out... And by that I mean the Republicans caving so they didn't get blamed for shit not getting done. If I recall Obama's last budget Crying Chuck Schumer was blown away but what they got out of the deal, so much so he said it was more than they could have hoped for.

Re: Democrats: Fight Anything Trump, Republicans Put Forward
He’s not gonna Rav. Trump wasn’t and still isn’t the GOP choice. Hell he’s really not a Rep. He openly backed the Clintons back when Big Willy was in. His “taste “ didn’t change until it looked like Obama was gonna win in 08? Then he started the “birther” movement. I know you personally like Trump and that’s certainly your right but to me ( I said this when he ran) I think Trump seen running as a game. Watch me say what I want , do what I want and the people will love me. Well...he was right. He had to run on the GOP ticket cause he wasn’t gonna sway the Dems off of HRC or Bernie. The GOP parades out about 100 candidates so Trump had the best shot of winning the popularity contest. I’m not saying he’s done a bad job or a good job so far ...but he’s def gonna fight an uphill battle if he doesn’t get the support of his “party”.

Re: Democrats: Fight Anything Trump, Republicans Put Forward
They all hate him and have always hated him since he came down that escalator in 2015. It was always gonna be an uphill battle no matter what. His goals don't align with theirs. If the GOP maintains its majority after November, things might change. I think Trump has been more of a thorn in the side of the secret "political machine" behind closed doors and that's one of the reasons these senators and congressman spew hatred his way every chance they get. That's one of the reasons people like Lindsay Graham don't want illegal immigration to stop in this country. It benefits his donors and special interest groups but it hurts his constituents and John Q. Taxpayer.
I hate party politics. In a perfect world, we would have a leader who doesn't play this political party bullshit and isn't owned by billion-dollar "special interests" and only does what's in the best interest of the people who pay their salaries like cutting taxes and stimulating private businesses growth. Wait...what?Last edited by ravenmaniac4life; 02-13-2018 at 05:39 PM.
