Jimmy Smith and Jah Reid missing today's practice, any reasons?

According to Matt Vensel, Jimmy Smith and Jah Reid are missing practice today. Any injuries that nobody knows of? If it's not due to any injuries, it would surprise me as Reid and Smith have some pretty big battles coming for for a starting guard and corner spot on the roster.

They need to stop putting fallacies into Jah Reids head about him playing Guard. They need to have him practice at RT, because after 2012, that is where he will be playing. Osemele will be playing Guard.

IDK man Harbaugh always favours the guy who has had more time in the league, even if it is a year in this case. I do think Osemele will end up winning the LG position this season, but it would not surprise me if Reid won it either.

No injuries, they just decided they would voluntarily skip this entire OTA.

HUGE mistake IMHO for 3 guys that are 2nd year players and didn't have any offseason last year.

In the end, it may not mean anything, but if I were the coaches and I was counting on these young really unproven guys, I'd be pretty pissed off.

I think they'll get the message come the 14th of June. Harbs is going to be all over them..

They were both at the 1st set of OTAs so possibly they wanted to take a break which they are allowed to do and personally if I were them I would want a short break. I expect them to be there next week. People need time off. plus they could have been there on tuesday or show up today as the media only as access to wed.

I would say neither are nagging injuries but wanted to take a break as next week is another set of OTAs that Mandatory mini camp. Now would be the best time to take a break because by the time Mini camp is done its a month till training camp and most players will be working out doing conditioning at the castle.
