The question is, are they willing and brave enough to dismiss one or more of their aging star players like the Ravens did to Heap? That decision by the Ravens was the correct one but it takes a lot of nerve. I do not see the Steelers doing that and they may continue to sputter because of that.

I always hear rumors about cap issues, but as GOTA said I'll believe it when I see it".

They have let a lot of aging guys go, or guys that played well for them but wanted too much money. How many LBs have they been through over the last 10 years? Joey Porter, Kendrell Bell, etc.

Wasn't this year proof enough? They were clearly talent deficient with a lack of depth. Sure Roethlisberger missed a few games, but he came back and the team was still bad.

Good for them. The team was 8-8.

Agreed, but any team can have a bad season. They are like DiNiro in Cape Fear, they have to be killed off completely before I can say they won't be in the running for a while.

LBs are mostly replaceable. Would they let a Polamalu or a Heath Milller go?

Hair, yes I'd let him go. He's always hurt and the fans can just get over it like they do everywhere else. Miller I'd keep around unless his cap number is prohibitive and if it is, he can walk too. They can't keep pushing contracts into next year

Yes it was...and their offense was bottom 1/3 of the league.

Recall the owner stepped in and demanded that Tomlin get rid of Arians...they went with Haley and it basically back-fired on them.

I am not counting them out...but they have a lot of issues to deal with this off-season.

And see how they finished. Stats are over rated, the team that scores the most points in the game is all that matters. Br did not help in that area, with his intercepted passes. Can't wait to see BR play again this year, bet he is mediocre at best. Him and haley have issues(it really is BR offense you know).

Their offense was clicking early in the year when BR was healthy. It was down the stretch that killed them and when he came back he was the defense' best friend. If they can fix that the offense will be ok
