Dude, you can't throw around nuance like that when I am dealing with a 3 month old all day. You just can't!

I've known that for years. My best friend is too.

Tell you what. You lend me the three month old, I'll lend you a 4'3, 81 pound five year old. As an added bonus I'll toss in the sarcasm the little(?) booger has perfected by having me as a role-model, plus all the football training I've been giving him. This way you can practice receiving sarcasm from someone who is, in my humble opinion, a natural at the art, and I get to let my sore ribs heal.

Fair warning: Don't hit him in the head. It doesn't faze him and only results in your hand hurting.

One of my fraternity brothers works for a lobbying firm down by the Capitol and he and I had a couple of beers a few weeks ago. He was telling me about how the Tea Party members within the Republican Party have really been difficult to work with within the GOP for a lot of different reasons, but mainly because they are a small (but significant) group within the GOP that doesn't like the way moderate Republicans kind of straddle that fence in the middle.

I just kind of look at the Republican Party right now and it just seems so fractured.

I'm a libertarian anyway, so it doesn't bother me one way or the other outside of the fact that this country - for some unintelligible reason - still operates under the two party system and both Dems and Reps need to work together to get shit accomplished.
    OK, Thanks.

Great points. We agree on something-lol. I voted Libertarian too.

I just found this link on why the Tea Party pushed for the stand off.

Libertarians as well as the Green Party will probably never be a major force, ditto for the Tea party if it actually does split out (my bet is it won't split out the GOP). This article IMO gives a pretty good explanation on why the 2 party system is so strong here compared to other countries:

Yea, I meant to say that.

It's always been a 2 party system. Once in a while a 3rd party candidate like Perot might jump in and mess things up like he did for Bush but it's always a two party system.

TEa Party needs to stay in and shake things up. If they can mobilize the Christians they could really be a force and make some waves within the party like in the mid terms and get more of their candidates in.

I just found this on Fox and the Tea Partiers say it was worth the fight and will fight on with O BUMMER CARE saying Americans are losing the insurance they loved and paid for.

Sounds like they're staying in to me.

Senate GOPs ruined things and didn't cooperate with them. Theyre
the liberals of the party. Screw em.

8 months ago, when this piece was written, I would have agreed with you.

But support for a third party is at a high never seen before.

It's going to happen eventually. Just a matter of how soon, IMO.

    I agree.

I think it is only a matter of time before the general populace gets entirely fed up with Reps and Dems.

seeing as much as we all debate issues on here, but still ultimately support Libertarian and/or the need for a 3rd party id fully agree with that. One thing you can certainly say, especially with this shut down, is the people are getting fed up with status quo in washington.

"Republicans are a party of bad ideas and Democrats are a party of no ideas. Republicans in Congress stand up and say 'I got a really bad idea!' And the Democrat immediately follows that up with 'And I can make it shittier!'"
