Do you have to belong to a Ravens Roost to go? I'll be working in BB that weekend.

Re: Anyone going to the Ravens Roost Convention in OC?
I assume the Nests still hold their convention there at the same time, as does Poe's Crows. They all go down the same weekend and have various parties. The Roosts have been going the longest and have the parade permit. It is the only parade permit issued in OC between Memorial and Labor day, IIRC.
To participate in the activities of any you need to be a member. The costs are nominal, check out the local chapters to see which best fits you.

I'll be there with the Ravens Nests OC Rave. It is fun seeing purple all over town that weekend. Also following it up with NASCAR in Dover on Sunday :)

Re: Anyone going to the Ravens Roost Convention in OC?
We'll be there with RR 18.
Here's a little clarification for attendance of events:
You don't have to be a Roost member to participate but you do have to register for the convention with the Council. Registrations are due in April. What you do is hook up with someone in a Roost ahead of time. I'd say probably a third of the folks at the convention are guests of Roost members but not actually in a Roost. Registration entitles you to a really great bull roast, souvenirs, a lot of beer and two parties. You can also participate in several sports competitions to include volleyball, horseshoes, tug o war, mini golf, karaoke, punt & pass contest and a scavenger hunt. In order to play you have to be registered on a team with one of the Roosts.
The parade, starting at 19th Street on Saturday June 2nd at 10am is open to the public of course. Even if you are not registered you can still stop by Castle in the Sand and check out the huge party. You just have to buy your own food and drinks at the hotel bar, and you can't play any sports. The best thing to do is inquire at your neighborhood Roost around the March timeframe, or better yet, join us. :)

No matter what fan club you're in, or even if you're just a Raven Fan at-large, it's a great time to be downey Oshun hawn! Purple rules in OC that weekend and there are parties everywhere. :D

Looking forward to seeing everybody here in our Town. As Marv Levy used to say, "Where else would you rather be, than right here, right now?!"
Cheers!.
