Tony Pashos has been one of the best RTs in the NFL this year.

Essentially this tells us what we all knew already, RTs just aren't very good for a reason, if they're good they get shifted over to LT, see Jammal Brown of New Orleans as a prime example.

Don't know about this, of all positions, you can't sum up a lineman in stats. Doesn't take into account pressure, technique, etc..

Re: Tony Pashos has been one of the best RTs in the NFL this year.
Well we've starting running to the right side for a change since Billick took over the offense
He's not as bad as he used to be, but not sure if he's near the top -- would think that he's more around the middle
A key stat that's missing is the number of yards / carry or total yards that the team gets in running behind him; last year our right side was horrible [ KC Joyner Scientific Football 2006] -- don't know what its been this year, but don't think its that much better except for the last 2 games
Another stat that would help outside of stats are the number of hurries that he's allowed

Jeepers Stockers your color combinations for the players made me feel ill.
The line is starting to hold its own in the pass, but it can't run block to save its life.Pashos needs to be upgraded ASAP.Put the smile back on your face. This is a 60 minute ball game.

Just presented it as Neil did over at uknflfan, very basic and stat based but does tell a story of just how bad RTs are all round and how difficult it actually is to find upgrades in truth, anyone who the great athleticism and technique gets converted to LT and will get paid more by those who don't have an LT.

he'll do until/if we upgrade. conceivably, in a year or two the Ravens will draft the next LT, and maybe JOgd can finish out his career at RT.
two things. One: He seems to be an upgrade over Orlando Brown.
Two: He seems to be doing much better, esp fewer penalties, the last few weeks; like much of the offense, his performance seems to be better since BB took the OC job.

Very good stuff, UK. I would love to know the source on this stuff. I was going to work on some O-Line analysis at some point this year, and I'd love to not have to recreate the wheel if something is out there already.
Pashos has faced some good Left DE's this season (Burgess, Peppers, Castillo, Vanden Bosch). Peppers had 2 sacks in the game against us, but I am assuming 1 was not assigned to Pashos somehow. The other 3 all got shut out, and we have only 1 other sack that even came from an opposing DE this year.

Re: Tony Pashos has been one of the best RTs in the NFL this year.
I love Football Outsiders' stats where they try to adjust for game situations and the opposition. They have Baltimore's O-line ranked 18th in rushing and 6th in pass protection.
They also provide o-line rushing rankings by LT, mid part of the line, and RT. It's some good stuff.
We finally have some protection after all these years even though a good amount has something to do with McNair's uncanny ability to feel the pocket. I would hate to see the Raven's move on with Pashos when finally they have a good protector.
Problem though is what to do with the rush. I can't say if it is him solely that the right side of the line is not producing. Vincent has to receive fault as well.
