NFL going up in smoke?
pot_football_576.jpg
Lomas Brown shared with the Detroit News that 50% of the players in the NFL smoke pot.
If true, I’m not surprised. Actually I’m surprised more don’t.
NFL players have no choice but to deal with pain. You often hear analysts say how healthy teams are oftentimes the best teams. But health in the case of the NFL is relative. No teams are healthy. Some may be less injured than others but there’s a reason the game looks faster in September than it does in January. The wear and tear hasn’t set in yet.
So how do the players manage pain?
Ibuprofen?
Vicodin?
Clearly there are risks with those, just ask Alonzo Mourning and Brett Favre.
Relatively speaking, could it be that marijuana is less harmful?

Re: NFL going up in smoke?
I don't think this should surprise anyone.
I would like to point out that the guy was sharing this with the Detroit News and correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Lions have 3 guys get busted for possession since January or something?Disclaimer: The content posted is of my own opinion.

I've always maintained that weed is the NFL's dirty little secret.
There is a reason they test for weed only once and it's an announced test.

I'm surprised that rich guys like that don't go for more expensive drugs like cocaine.

Re: NFL going up in smoke?
I think we'd all be surprised if we knew how many of our colleagues smoked weed. It's very common

Re: NFL going up in smoke?
You can't get rid of PED's the way you can pot.
You do a cycle or two of steroids or use HGH for even a month, and the testosterone levels will remain high for months. You can get rid of traces of weed with 30 days and a ton of Gatoraide.
And as wicked pointed out, the weed test is announced.
PED testing is a blood test, where the announced weed test is urine, so while they may do the testing at the same time, it's not the same kind of test.Last edited by HoustonRaven; 05-21-2012 at 09:57 AM.
