I'm not privy to the inner workings of a front office, but I would have offered the Broncos their 4th rounder back for that deal. Then again, it would create an issue with what to do with Monroe. Maybe the Ravens feel Monroe has been working out at the facility well enough to be the short term LT.

Ravens couldn't take that salary on without renegotiating. The Jets, theoretically can, but they are working a new deal with him post-trade. Not sure what happens if those talks break down, but with Ferguson gone, they had the space.
