Rex Ryan
Could we see a Rex Ryan return to DC next season?
Seems like he could be gone from NY after this season.
Could the ravens pick him back up? Rex Ryan could just be another wade phillips - Mediocre to bad HC but an amazing DC.

Re: Rex Ryan
Rex admitted that he had some bad blood due to being passed in favor of Harbaugh. I'd love him back as a DC but Rex doesn't have the kind of ego that you can put back in a can. Once he's been top dog, he'll always want to be top dog. That will make for a tension filled dynamic for Harbaugh.

Re: Rex Ryan
No.
There's no way they'd bring him back. He's too much about Rex now and that wouldn't work well for an assistant.

Re: Rex Ryan
Dean Pees has to go, but Rex Ryan is just not a fit for this team anymore. Best bet is going after a guy like Ron Rivera.

There is no way Ryan will work again for the Ravens.
In fact, I can see Ryan going out of his way to land an AFC North job just so he could stick-it to the Ravens.
I still think it was in the best interests of both parties to part ways, but there is just too much bad blood for their to be any sort of reconciliation.

Re: Rex Ryan
Yeah, Norv Turner as the OC and Rex as the DC and Harbaugh as HC.
That would have a crazy dynamic but if the coaches left their egos at the door, that would be something else.
But egos at the door is not a Rex thing even though I think Rex IS the guy to fix this defense.

Re: Rex Ryan
Ron Rivera would be grrrrreat! The 3-4 he ran in San Diego consistently stymied Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and other great passers and he arguably did it without a ton of talent outside of Shaun Philips. Would LOVE to see him run the Ravens defense in 2013.
And no, there is not even 1% chance Rex Ryan comes back. Frankly, I think he'll be given more rope in New York with the caveat that they dump Sanchez and get a real QB. I really don't see Ryan as the main reason the Jets are floundering, perhaps you could argue that he's mismanaged the locker room, but he hasn't had a lot of help from his GM and FO who have been woefully incompetent.

This thread again, huh?
What Ravor said. Seem folks need to go back and read news articles about Rex's departure. I have a better shot at being DC next season.
Now Marvin Lewis? I'd jump all over that hiring.

Re: Rex Ryan
I just hope Pigsburgh doesn't fire LeBeau and hire Rex.
