Re: Steelers dump Alameda Ta’amu
Agreed. I don't think we're going to get a shot at him, but I was just bringing up Hall because, if they felt that Ta'amu could be a part of their future, I would think they could find someone to let go in order to be able to place a waiver claim on him. After all, Kemo is unlikely to be back next year, so they're going to need someone to, at worst, back-up Cody.

Ok everyone, did I miss something because he was charged with 5 felonies.
Were they dropped???
Because if not, he could be in some serious trouble, yes?

Re: Steelers dump Alameda Ta’amu
Yeah, I don't think he's just gonna get a PBJ on this one lol. Total of 18 counts, now of course I didn't read the police report obviously just what was on the news but most will be merged and a handfull just tossed like the aggrivated assault and so on. Hard to prove he swerved at officers on purpose.
He'll get the DUI's and Felony Fleeing and Eluding, probably get 90 days jail and 2 years probation. If he gets anything less than 30 days in jail it'll be a miracle for him.
Edit: Now all that being said I'd claim him just for depth maybe later in the year and cetainly for future depth. Kemo is gone after this year and we dont have much along the line, of QUALITY depth.

Man, he did have an impressive night. From a strictly football perspective, I would love for the Ravens to get him, but I will be amazed if he avoids jail time.

Re: Steelers dump Alameda Ta’amu
If anyone watched him college, you will know that he is nothing like Terrence Cody. He was a productive pass rusher who could really collapse the pocket, which Cody has just never been able to do.

Re: Steelers dump Alameda Ta’amu
Ta'amu went unclaimed. Either no one really wanted him or no one wanted to have to pick up whatever guaranteed money that he's still owed. The Steelers are now on the hook for whatever that may be, although since he was a 4th round pick, I would doubt that it's very much.
He's now a FA.
