How's that old story go? No reason to fix a leaky roof when it's not raining because it's not leaking then. Can't fix it when it's raining because you'll get wet.

Following the coverage here after seeing the news this morning.

Hope all you guys and Eastcoasters stay safe and look out for each other. This would probably be a good time to look over those Raven games (good ones - I wouldn't watch the KC game right about now).

Yeah just saw the update. Any news on how long Sandy's visit will be? I heard this morning that there are high pressure stuff inland, that they're hoping Sandy doesn't get to mingle with...

Not sure how I still have power. Normally a threat of a storm knocks it out FOR DAYS!!!!!!!!!

Large oak trees very close to house. Wind is getting frightening. Gonna be a long night.

In laws in NJ just said their power went out about 40 min ago. Apparently the coastline of NJ is getting hit really hard. LBI, Wildwood, Cape May...it's all taking a beating.

Lost about 1/3 of the Bradford Pear tree last October when it snowed about 4 inches or so last October and the weight of the wet snow took it down.
About 1 1/2 hours ago Sandy took down about 2/3 of what was left from last October.

Haven't been up to the tree to get a look yet but I'm hoping my fence behind where it landed is still standing.

My friend's parents have a beachfront house in OCNJ.

Still ok here in Pasadena Maryland. I have a few branches down and the power flickered but it is still on. I have a feeling that may change. Long night as someone else mentioned.
