Re: OT -- Storm Thread -- How's Everyone Doing?
Holy shit! Where did you hear that?
I live right outside fenwick island, about 4-5 miles from the beach right off rt 54. Its very very windy and the rain is dumping. They dont want anybody on the roads so i havent been out today but i did go down to check out the beach yesterday. It is gone, the was up to the dunes and in some parts the water was past the dunes. I know its a lot worse today.

Re: OT -- Storm Thread -- How's Everyone Doing?
Funny.
I live in Harford County. It seems I will have the next few days off with my two kids and wife. The wind and rain is starting to pick up. My understanding is conditions are going to be pretty dangerous tonight into tomorrow. We have very large, mature trees surrounding the house. As a result, we have the air mattress ready to go and we will all be sleeping in the family room downstairs tonight.
Be safe everyone! Don't do anything rash (like going out for more beer!).

Friend of mine works for accuweather.
"Direct quote from a document I am working on right now...
"Hurricane Sandy has sustained winds of 90 mph and continues to intensify. It already has the lowest barometric pressure in the Northeast U.S. in history.
In the history of modern meteorology, there has never been a storm like Hurricane Sandy."

I've been out and its rough and getting worse. I'm going to volunteer at my local hospital to be an emergency driver.
Other than that, I hope to get a lot of work finished over the next 36 hours.

Re: OT -- Storm Thread -- How's Everyone Doing?
I'm at work and probably should be leaving soon. I work in the White Marsh area and the winds have started to really pick up. I've got to make sure the parents are okay. Their generator is in standby:)
As for me I live 10 mins away from my folks and need to start thinking about dry ice locations to hit bright and early in the morning. No sense in getting them now when they'll start evaporating.Last edited by pslholder96; 10-29-2012 at 01:02 PM.
