How is everyone doing? What did you do to prepare?

Bought lots of beer. I'm afraid I may have underestimated.

A half hour left before a mandatory curfew placed by the town kicks in. We still have power but the wind is just starting. The CT coast is under water but you can still drive through it for now. The big winds are just starting. Not sure how long the power is going to last. We've been told once it's down it's probably 7 to 10 days before it's coming back. If you don't hear from me for a while that will be why. Really hoping they get it back for the next game. Good luck to all

Parkville has been calm. Heavy rain, but mild winds so far. Power is holding steady. My preparation was basically nothing because I have been working 80 hour weeks lately and I just hope things don't get bad.

I do have a small genny to keep the fridge and sump pump running. Hopefully I won't need it.
My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging. -Hank Aaron

    Yep.

    Old stomping ground for me.

The pier is wiped away too.

Holy shit! Where did you hear that?

I live right outside fenwick island, about 4-5 miles from the beach right off rt 54. Its very very windy and the rain is dumping. They dont want anybody on the roads so i havent been out today but i did go down to check out the beach yesterday. It is gone, the was up to the dunes and in some parts the water was past the dunes. I know its a lot worse today.

Gassed up the generator just in case. Last I heard, rain and wind supposed to pick up a lot more later this afternoon and overnight. Schools closed and I work from home so at least no worries about being out on the road.

Re: OT -- Storm Thread -- How's Everyone Doing?

I am currently at work. The nature of my work is considered critical.

However, I am probably going to split soon because the Washington DC area is pretty hairy right now and only going to get worse. Truthfully, it's not THAT bad...I wouldn't want to drive any significant distance in it...but the amount of bad drivers around here makes travel a big pain in the ass...especially in bad weather.

Provisions at home: 14 Harpoon IPA's and 10 Saranac Winter Ales. 1 Bottle of Russian Imperia Vodka. 1 Bottle of Disarano Amaretto, 1/2 bottle of Laphroig Single Malt Scotch (10 yr), 3 small bottles of patron, 1 bottle of kaluha, 1 bottle Hendricks Gin, .25 bottle of Grand Marinier Liquer, 3 bottles of red wine (including a 2004 Opus 1), and 2 bottles of white wine.

    Think I'm set.

Hope my wife got stuff for her, haha.

I think the biggest thing that people around here need to do is get cash. In my briefing this morning projected reports are showing that approximately 65% of people in the NCR (National Capitol Region) are likely going to lose power for 1-3 days.

Never an alarmist but this thing is gonna reek havoc.

Just saw the newest satellite shot of the storm.

It's unreal how big it is.
