Would you be Shocked if the Ravens lost Monday?

Would you be shocked if the Ravens lost Monday? In the NFL anything can happen especially in the division but thinking about it, yes I would be shocked. I just can't see the Ravens losing their home opener on national TV. All the Giants fans I know felt the same way but that doesn't change my mind. The Bengals aren't going to be able to run on the Ravens and will turn the ball over constantly throwing it. They don't have enough healthy pass rushers to stop Flacco from hitting those quick passes in tight windows that we saw in the preseason. It will still be a close game but honestly I can't imagine the Ravens losing this game

If they lose and look rusty and out of sync, you've got to criticize the move from Westminster to Owings Mills. Wasn't the main reason to gain a competitive advantage to start the season? To be totally in-sync Week 1? If they come out flat, the deprivation of all that training camp income that the Town of Westminster usually sees would be for naught.

That being said, I can't see the Bengals winning this game. Towards the last half of the year, teams picked up on Andy Dalton. I see a sophomore slump for him. However, I bet they'll be able to run on us, seeing as how LB is a surefire weakness of this team. It'll be fun to watch.

I'm sorry but you can't blame a loss or any future ones for that matter on a move from Westminster to Owings Mills. Does this mean you'll start giving the move to Owings Mills some legitimacy after every win this year? What about previous years when training camp was in Westminster? Were you attributing losses to lack of preparation there? For 4 straight years the ravens have proven that they know what it takes to put a winning product on the field and so given their track record we have to trust them.

One thing I know for sure is that this is going to be another intense hard fought game. I give the Ravens the edge in every category including the emotional one.

I'm most interested in seeing how guys like Upshaw, Kruger and Mclellan perform. Those three will be the most counted on to replace Suggs' production.

Lol.. I don't see the difference between it, and I really can't fathom out a credible argument to the performance changing from changing where you hold training camp. A field with two marked end zones with the field markings is the same wherever you go.

We shouldn't be shocked if Cincy wins this game. As Rodney Harrison said about the Cowboys-Giants game, "season openers are fools gold". So my feeling is, even if they lose, it won't mean that much. A loss might end up being a beneficial slap in the face.

Nothing shocks me in the NFL, hell football Period. I just saw #8 Arkansas lose to Louisiana Monroe last night... Sooo that being said, anything is possible.

A loss in Week 1 to Cincy a shock? Unfortunately no - considering the last four at home to the Bengals (all close games). I just changed my prediction for this game from a loss to a win for the following reasons:

    1. The Ravens have had months to prepare for this game (Harbaugh is 3-0 in home openers; 4-0 in season openers).
    2. The Ravens have won three straight over the Bengals.
    3. A lackluster preseason for the starters except against Jacksonville when the starters played their longest by far - and looked great doing it, offensively and defensively.
    4. The special team return coverage in preseason was awful, but STs isn't likely to cost you such a game.

With Eagles and Patriots upcoming, the Ravens simply need to 'take care of business' against Cincy. The Bengals, without Carson Palmer, do not scare me.

I would not be shocked but certainly would be a bit of a surprise. I do think that this is a very important game with the type of schedule we have. A win and more specifically a dominating win would help to set a tone that this team is focused on unfinished business rather than put the focus on some of the question marks that I am assuming went unsatisfactorily answered if we lose.
While the team could certainly recover from a loss, there is not as much wiggle room as in some other years were the out of division schedule was not as daunting. Its not the end all be all but it is an important game

Does anyone know when the true kickoff will be? I know it says 7pm, but is that with a half hour of MNF fluff? Plus the Art Modell tribute? I have school until 7:30p, trying to figure out when kickoff actually will be. Sometimes you can find a true kickoff time, but I've been unsuccessful so far.
