Take a look at Peytons line from his first NFL game.

    Pretty putrid.

Pretty sure the raw talent of Peyton Manning was far more obvious and heralded than anything ever written about or seen by anybody re: Brandon Weeden.

    Umm no.

Ryan Leaf was the man then. Manning, while highly regarded, was just another high draft pick -- maybe he will be good, maybe he won't.

He went 3-13 that year, btw.

Stephen Hill with two TDs on the day. He probably won't do much against Pittsburgh next week though.

Randy Moss has a TD against the Packers. They are still afraid of letting him get deep, so he is taking the underneath stuff.

Would still rather have either one of them over Jacoby Jones. I just didn't expect the Jets to move up for Hill. I wouldn't take hill over Hightower or Upshaw though. He was third on my list.

Yes. Peyton was definitely a turnover machine his rookie year.

LOL your comparing Brandon Weeden to Peyton Manning...

Anyway, I said since I can remember, that was 1999. The game has also changed a lot since then, in todays game that is offensive happy, you kind of expect a QB to come out of a game with at least a rating of over 10 (Weedens was 5 or something lmao).

To which, I gave you the Manning example.

I'm not saying anything further than that other than one game does not make the QB career.

    I know my history, thanks.

My point was that sometimes when people look fundamentally lost and confused, it's because they're going to be fundamentally lost and confused at the NFL level. Brandon Weeden looks incompetent. If he turns out good to great, let us know.

It is extremely tiring not to be able to offer an opinion about a game and a player you have just seen just because everyone wants to sanctimoniously remind people of Peyton Manning. Sometimes the obvious is obvious.

Armchair QB experts ignoring history in favor of their own eyes are equally tiring.

And there's a longer list of them.
