Re: Ravens 11th most valued franchise in NFL

I wish someone would do a study on the Forbes list vs. what these teams actually sell for. We've seen the Ram, Jaguars and now Browns all sell recently. How close were those prices to the value that Forbes put on them?

The other thing wonder is how the Vikings aren't dead last. They don't have any interest in their stadium. They supposedly have the worst lease in the NFL. Their debt to value is 33% which is very high for a team that doesn't own a piece of a stadium. How can any team be in a worse situation?

How on earth did the Steelers not make money last year?

Ravens have fallen from 8th to 11th since 2010. Danny Snyders lost 16,000 seats and dropped to #3.

Franchises gaining value due to new or committed to new stadiums.
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

    First post!

I think the best thing on this list is that the Ravens are one spot higher than the Colts. Screw those turncoats.

With the revenue sharing from TV and the salary cap - how can any team have a negative operating income?

Because they restructure contracts and that 30 mil or 10 mil or whatever they gave to players for accounts purposes is taken in full, whereas cap it's split over huge life of the deal. I'd say the steelers paid out a good 50mil in bonuses this year greatly reducing their profit on the income statement

I remember when the 49ers were winning back to back SB titles in the late '80s they actually lost money.

Take it for what it's worth.
    It's a guestimate.

Zillow said my house lost 6% value last year.
Of course it doesn't know what's under the roof.
It's evaluation is short 1 bed and 1 bath.
