    Re: 2012 Ravens Record?

    14-2.

    losses at Houston & Pittsburgh

(the schedule Gods smiled om Baltimore when giving us NE, NY, and Denver at home)
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

    Re: 2012 Ravens Record?

    BENGALS W
    Eagles L
    PATRIOTS W
    BROWNS W
    Chiefs W
    COWBOYS W
    Texans L
    -BYE-
    Browns W
    RAIDERS W
    Steelers L
Chargers L (Chargers seem to have our number these days.)
    STEELERS W
    Redskins W
BRONCOS W (Peyton has had our number but at home with a less explosive team I think we prevail.)
GIANTS L (Eli and those receivers against our defense, which has never beaten Eli, IIRC...)
Bengals W (I think we'll see that team is smoke and mirrors by this point.)

    11-5

Those last seven games, with the Redskins scrimmage in the middle, are gonna be brutal. They're also gonna be where most people get their predictions messed up, as then we will see what this team is really made of emotionally (battling top-tier QBs over and over; even the wins having the potential for letdowns).

Steelers-Chargers-Steelers could easily be three losses, and so could Broncos-Giants-Bengals.

    11-5, division winner.

Steelers will be lucky to make playoffs. Bengals will find out last year was a fluke due to an easy schedule.

    Re: 2012 Ravens Record?

I see no reason that this team shouldn't win every game on that schedule. Is the competition stiff? Sure. Do any of you doubt the Ravens can beat every single one of those teams? Most of my doubts are about let-downs and them beating themselves more then I'm concerned about the other team. When it comes to that, I start thinking of last years WT*? games.

So I can't pick any losses on the schedule with accuracy.

They'll go 14-2 w/a first round bye. Not gonna hazard a guess about which games they'll lose, but I can almost guarantee at least one of them will be against an underdog.

If they bring it every game, I don't see any reason they can't win every game on the schedule.

    BENGALS W
eagles L (early in the season, D will struggle against one-cut & go type RBs, especially on the road)
    PATRIOTS W
    BROWNS W
chiefs L (road game, Chiefs will have bounce back season if key players stay healthy)
    COWBOYS W
texans L (early in the season, D will struggle against one-cut & go type RBs, especially on the road)
    bye
    browns W
    RAIDERS W
    steelers W
chargers L (let-down game after beating Steelers, plus on the road)
STEELERS L (traveling from west coast too much, even though it's a home game)
    redskins W
    BRONCOS W
    GIANTS L (Giants D-line & WRs--if healthy--are just too good, 2nd loss at home)
    bengals W

Ravens will go 3-1 in division.
Record will be 10-6; good enough for wild card or even to win the division through tie-breakers.

I think anything less that 12-4 will be a disappointment to this team. They are stacked.

Who knows, with the upgrade to kicker they may go all the way!

    Re: 2012 Ravens Record?

Monday 10 Sept: Cincinnati Bengals W – Big home opener, kitties won’t hang.
Sunday 16 Sept: @ Philadelphia Eagles W – Pollard takes out Vick.
Sunday 23 Sept: New England Patriots L – Refs come back just in time to save Brady’s ass.
Thurs 27 Sept: Cleveland Browns W – No way we lose unless they bring Staph infections with them.
Sunday 7 Oct: @ Kansas City Chiefs W – Matt Cassel can’t out duel Joe.
Sunday 14 Oct: Dallas Cowboys L – Dez Bryant wishes he were a Raven right now.
Sunday 21 Oct: @ Houston Texans L – Suggs MIA will be felt, we’ve had their number, not today.
    Sunday 28 Oct: BYE
Sunday 4 Nov: @ Cleveland Browns W - Cleveland’s Superbowl. Get over it.
Sunday 11 Nov: Oakland Raiders W - this team just isn’t very good. Carson might not even be QB.
Sunday 18 Nov: @ Pittsburgh Steelers L – Law of averages catches us.
Sunday 25 Nov: @ San Diego Chargers W – Rivers has no one to throw jump balls to.
Sunday 2 Dec: Pittsburgh Steelers W - Terrell Suggs first game back. Monster game.
Sunday 9 Dec: @ Washington Redskins W – Almost a home game, RGIII = ERIII (Ed Reed 3 picks)
Sunday 16 Dec: Denver Broncos W – Manning may own us, but only when a Colt.
Sunday 23 Dec: New York Giants L – Brother Eli will light us up.
Sunday 30 Dec: @ Cincinnati Bengals – W not even playing for playoffs or pride, kitties die.

11-5 enough for the division, but on the road to New England, again.

Defense takes a major step back this year. Ray Lewis wont play anymore than 10-12 games. Luckily we have a great QB/RB duo that should pick up the slack. But it won't be enough. Cant make the playoffs every year.

    9-7

The pessimist in me agrees with you, though I won't bet on Ray missing many games. I'll say a 10-6 record. Schedule is brutal. The defense seems to have taken too many punches via FA/injuries, and not enough of the youngsters seem to be stepping up. If this unit stays a Top 10 defense, Dean Pees will have done the coaching/scheming job of his life.

All of you can take heart, however, in the fact that I'm generally lousy at these kind of predictions.

People seem to undervalue the fact that we have a great QB AND a great feature back, not to mention a nice receiving / TE corps! I say 11-5 division champs!

Funny how the mood suddenly changes after a game when pretty much all of the starters weren't playing.

If you change your predictions based on the 4th preseason game, you've pretty much hit a new low.

My prediction, for one, isn't based on the 4th preseason game. The Ravens' tough schedule as well as their defensive woes were well known before last night. If I'm wrong, then wonderful.

    Re: 2012 Ravens Record?

Could see us losing at home to the Pats, and MAYBE the Giants. Can see us losing in SD. And of course that game where we shouldn't lose but do(like every year) being the Chiefs. The other road loss being the Texans.

Just see it rough early season without Suggs. 4-3 going into the BYE. Than him coming back and reigniting the D.

So 12-4, or 11-5 with the swing being the Giants. If it was earlier in the season I'd say we beat them easily, but damn they seem to get really really good pre playoffs, and than obviously in the playoffs.

See 12-4 being good enough to win, with the 11-5 going to tiebreakers, which we win as we swept the Bungles. I really see a sweep of the division again this year. The Steelers are gonna struggle, Ben's gonna get smacked around early, and hard and their D just isn't gonna be what it was. Think the bengals will be decent but similar to last year and prob going 11-5 also.
