Thread: OBY Could lose Illinois

OBY Could lose Illinois
Romney is winning in Chicago by 49-37%.
Plus, NewsWeek article blasted OBY's
policies that were all failures. It was a
contributing writer and all the regs are
flipping backwards but NewsWeek published the article.
CBS TIMES poll drops OBYs favorability to
36%. Job approval remains around 45%.
These are two of the most liberal rags
around.

Re: OBY Could lose Illinois
Here's the NewsWeek cover story.
He's on the cover again only the title
says: HIT THE ROAD BARRACK.
Their last cover that called him the first gay president after
he endorsed same sex marriage.

Re: OBY Could lose Illinois
That'd really be something if an incumbent President lost their own state.

Romney is not winning in Chicago. He's winning in the Chicago SUBURBS.
Cook County is home to Chicago proper. He's overwhelmingly favored and ahead.
No way Obama loses Illinois. This is just silly.

Re: OBY Could lose Illinois
Those numbers still do not bode well for OBY as the article says.
You're right Solo, it would really be something if he lost his home state.
HR is probably right because Chicago is where all the dead people won the election for JFK. The DEMs stole that election fair and square.
Gore lost his home state to W and said he has to go home and literally and figureatively repair some fences.
These numbers still show the discontent in OBY and bears that CBS poll of him losing his favorability correct.Last edited by AirFlacco; 08-21-2012 at 08:54 AM.

I like Tucker Carelson as a commentator, but his site stinks.
He employees some of the most hair brained writers in the business. This article shows what I'm talking about.
Chicago is its own municipality within Cook County. The areas around Chicago, save Evanston (home of Northwestern), teeters between red and blue all the time yet the state is as solid blue as any other. This election will be no different.
A writer should know these basics before writing such nonsense based off of one poll.

Re: OBY Could lose Illinois
I read the article yesterday, I didn't have a problem with it.
As usual with any story from any source, the headline is meant to get you to read the story.
After I read it, what I came away with, is that Obama is very unpopular outside of Chicago (shocker), and while he's not likely to lose Illinois based on that it shows how much appeal he's lost.
