    Draft stuff...Tyrann Mathieu

This knucklehead just cost himself millions of dollars because he can't stop smoking weed.

It's a shame too...I LOVE him as a football player. Undersized, but has those elite ball skills and instincts. I would have loved for the Ravens to have taken a shot at him, but obviously, he's approaching Burfict levels of unreliability.

I think as a safety, he has those Ed Reed/Troy Polamalu ability.

If we're talking safeties, I really like Eric Reid. But I really don't see the Ravens taking anything other than a tackle in the first round in next years draft. The 2013 draft is deep with OT talent, and the position is probably going to be the biggest need for us. I also really like Manti Teo, but I can't see him making it out of the top ten, he is that damn good, and hopefully the Ravens wont be picking there.

Oh, I wasn't suggesting that we take Mathieu in the first or any other safety.

I agree...if a quality tackle is there for us in the first, that has to be the pick.

I feel the same about Mathieu, would have loved to see him in a Ravens uniform. I still would love for the Ravens to grab him if he can put down the weed. Hope he doesn't turn into another Ricky Williams. Maybe LSU letting him go was a wake-up call for him?

Great talent and he completely fucked himself. He had the potential to be a top 10 pick just like Eric Berry. He's that good. Now he'll have to hope some team takes a chance on him in round 2 like Janoris Jenkins. Moron!

Nastyass Honey Badger don't give a shit.

I love him as a player, and do not care about some smoke. It will cost him some draft status, but maybe getting in trouble now will force him to mature. He may have blown out a knee or something by playing this year and hurt his stock even more.

I think he is too small to play fs, but could be a good playmaking cb and electric return man.

Id love him in the second, where im praying he drops done too. Oday Aboushi in the first, or Teo but i doubt he'll be there, and him in the second would be brilliant.

I don't think he necessarily has the speed or hips to be an elite CB. And I wouldn't want him out there at a position where other teams can just avoid him. I think with his instincts, he'd be a terror.

And I know he is small, but the guy shows zero fear tackling big guys. If some of you think Webb can play safety, why not Mathieu?

I am not one of those who think Webb can play FS at 180-185 lbs.

I do not see elite CB prospect, but I do see an elite return man where he has shown vision, hips, jukes and c.o.d. skills. As a Cb I think he could be comparable to Assante Samuel, not elite, but above average and a ball hawk.

Were deep at cb and dont need trouble. This is another guy that will be a constant headache because he feels hes doesnt have to abide by the laws of others. Weed or not its against nfl policy and if he doesnt stop hell be suspended more than he plays.

You aren't going to get an admission from the school or Mathieu probably, but all accounts are weed. The synthetic "spice" weed to be specific.

As for JW...Mathieu is WAY too versatile and physical IMHO to pigeon hole him at CB.

    Check this stuff out...

As an NFL-oriented site, PFT’s concern is with Mathieu’s future as a big-league, pro player. Listed at 5-foot-9, 175 pounds by LSU, Mathieu is an undersized but versatile defensive back with a knack for taking the football away from opponents. In two seasons at LSU, Mathieu forced 11 fumbles, intercepted four passes, recovered eight fumbles, and recorded six sacks. Also a dynamic return specialist, Mathieu scored twice on 2011 punt returns.

Last month, I broke down five of Mathieu’s sophomore-year games. He roamed all over LSU’s defensive formation, playing 36 percent of his snaps at slot cornerback, 32.5 percent at outside corner, and 10 percent at safety. On 21 percent of his plays, Mathieu operated primarily as a pass-rushing linebacker. He was a “joker” in LSU’s defense, wreaking havoc and causing collisions. He is a relentlessly physical defender. And while common perception might lead you to believe differently, I didn’t find Mathieu to be a liability in coverage.
    All in the SEC.

    Check out this link

I absolutely LOVE this guys abililty as a football player and I don't think you should only look at him as a corner.

JAB, I completely understand yours as well as a lot of others opinion on not wanting to touch him due to character. Reportedly failing 7...SEVEN drug tests and getting kicked out of football factories like LSU is a huge red flag. That is what is going to cause him to fall.
