#3 WR and kicker already decided?
Sounds like it, but man I hope Tucker beats out Cundiff.

Re: #3 WR and kicker already decided?
Cundiff is being challenged by rookie free agent Justin Tucker, who has impressed onlookers with his strong leg and accuracy. But Cundiff believes his maturity gives him a mental edge over Tucker.
“Justin is just a completely different guy. He’s a young kid out of college,” Cundiff said. “The maturity level is completely different than somebody like myself who’s been around. Going on my ninth season, I’ve kind of seen a lot, done a lot, that whole deal. So they have a little more experience with me here.”
I'm so done with Cundiff. 2010 was a fluke year.

As of a few days ago tucker hadn't missed one field goal in camp.
Anyone know how that's going?

Re: #3 WR and kicker already decided?
Actually going into the saturday open practice, I think Tucker only had missed one.
And I know he hit a 62 yarder at the bank saturday.
Right now, I think the main question is, can Tucker continue that in preseason games?
That is his next hurdle.
For Tucker and this competition, it is about these hurdles.
Can he continue to be so good all the way through the preseason game to instill confidence in those making the roster decisions?
In other words, if the Ravens make it back to the AFC championship and need a FG to win, do the decision makers believe Tucker can make that pressure kick? I think that is the only question he has to answer.

Re: #3 WR and kicker already decided?
You mean like replacing Stover with a rookie in Hauschka?
Now, that DID bite them in the ass!
I think we should just wait and see how they both kick in PS games before making any pronouncements about who should and shouldn't be the PK this year and predicting mistakes before a decision has even been made.

Re: #3 WR and kicker already decided?
That's not entirely true though. The Ravens carried Hauschka in 08 and then replaced Stover with him in 09...so technically Hauschka wasn't really a "rookie". He even went 1 for 2 with 50+ yard field goals that year.
Now, I can't remember, but was Hauschka eliciting the same kind of results when he was in pre-season camp? I can't recall, but I don't think Hauschka performed nearly as well as Tucker has thus far.Last edited by wickedsolo; 08-08-2012 at 10:28 AM.

Seeing those kids in the olympics makes me think it's better to be young and dumb, and not realize the magnitude of it all, rather than be older and thinking of past mistakes...

Yesterday they had a rushed game tying FG scenario from I think 50 yards and Cundiff missed his.
