He definitely is the best guy available, but he's the best of a extremely weak pool. If he was any good, he'd be on a team by now.

We're all open to other alternatives. Who do you want?

I'd like to see Rainey with the second team next week instead of AA.

Wasn't about this time last year that so many posters were raving about AA?

Heck, it was in March and April too.

The other thing that separates a veteran back (like Ricky W, Willis, Grant) from these young guys is the ability to read and pick up the blitz. It's a skill that can take years to master and something that these young guys aren't likely to be very good at - and it can really cost you.

I take back what I was (hoping) saying earlier about Double A. He needs to pick his game up BIG time or he's ghost for sure.

    Can't play scared.

Which one is going to pick up the blitzing LB who is about to cream Flacco?

Last year we signed Ricky who was also cut and sitting on the market and split time the year before. Those guys can work out as backups.

Whichever one wins the backup spot during camp. If they can't pass block, they won't win the backup spot

Pierce hasn't even started camp and there is no time table for him come back. You really want to go with an undrafted rookie free agent as the guy if Rice gets hurt? I like the kid but he looks like a 3rd down back to me.

Like I said before, ideally no but there's not a whole lot of talent in the free agent pool. I'm all for picking up someone that's gets released if they have talent. I think there's more talent out of our current backups than there is available to sign (and also much cheaper). Disagree if you like, but that's just how I feel.
