Re: Salary Cap Update
The coaches like the guy, but none of that matters if you can't get on the field.

Re: Salary Cap Update
I don't consider myself to be a "Reed supporter", but I don't agree with Wicked's logic on this one.
Reed is likely to go on PUP and may not even be ready after week 6. As such, an injury settlement may not even be possible because he has to agree to it and why take less if you may not be able to play elsewhere this year anyway?
Also, Reed - when healthy, and that is the big problem - has proven to be a pretty good KR (the Seattle game, notwithstanding). That is a valuable commodity that teams aren't eager to just give up on. He is still cheap and they aren't likely to need that Cap space this year anyway and it not that much to carryover into next year either.
Lastly, Jones is set to make $4M next year, so there's a good chance, even if he has a good year as a KR, he won't be here next year. He's going to have to excel at WR to earn that 2nd year of the deal, IMO. So, next year, they may need a healthy (yes, for how long?) Reed at KR.
Given the way this team has operated in the past, I just don't see them parting ways with Reed at this time. IMO, next year's TC will be make or break for him.

Re: Salary Cap Update
David Reed has been listed as the #4 receiver on the depth chart though, and Harbaugh constantly brings his name up in conversation when talking WR's, so I think the Ravens still like him a lot.

Re: Salary Cap Update
If we assume Jacoby Jones is the #3, then I'd be hard pressed not to think LaQuan Williams is #4 at this point. Has David Reed actually caught a pass for the Ravens? He's probably behind T. Doss too. I'd be surprised if he wasn't cut (or injury settlement), but IMO he's not making the 53 man roster... Bc

Re: Salary Cap Update
Reed has as many career receptions in 2 years as all of us do.
And Harbaugh talks well about almost every player on the roster. I don't think too much of his constant praises of players...he does that for everybody.
I think the team is just about done...I don't think they will waive him, but I am pretty sure that if Jones stays healthy and we get something out of our #4 WR...likely Laquan...they won't have a need for him and will put him on IR.
I actually think his injury may have saved him this year. Next year though, he has to show something in camp...it'll likely be his last chance. At this point, he's carving out a rep as a guy who was in the substance abuse program, is constantly hurt, has had a REALLY bad stretch of fumbling the football, and the coaches trust UDFA's to get on the field and catch balls over him. Hardly a coaches dream.
