The Redskins also save about $3.5 million by cutting him now. If Cooley wants to play for a lot less there will be plenty of teams interested. Not too many players can line up at TE and then shift over to fullback and become a good lead blocker. Cooley is the last of the old H-backs that the Gibbs did amazing things with.

damn Cooley was beast too, he took a beating though as Gota said hes probably the last of a dying breed maybe the last all together you don't see the word H-back anymore much less a H-back player.

At first I was pissed off because I like Cooley, but then I remembered Heap and Mason. That's the way time passes. Players get older and injured and have to be pushed out.

The Falcons cut Chris Redman. Any interest in bringing back this former Raven? Could Redman and Boller both be forced to retire the same year?

Merrill Hodge thinks the Jets should move Tebow to running back because he'd be better than Shonn Greene and anyone else on their roster.

Might not be a bad idea.

They effectively are doing just that - having him run the zone read. I think he will convert 3rds and score TDs in that formation but it won't come without tons of drama from players and fans
