Could be very similar roster break down as last year but if they go 7 Cbs its likely that they only go 5 WRs to compensate, unless they use Graham as a SS/DB and release considine. Its going to be a tough battle for the 5th WR and 6th DB and then the coaches will still have a big decision to make.
That's an interesting take. So, how do you see the rest of the roster breaking down?

    Do you think they'd keep a 3rd QB over a 6th receiver? Or a 9th lineman over a 6th wr?

If Jones gets beat for the 3rd wr spot, I really hope he gets cut. With the new kickoff rule kick returners are not nearly as important as they were a few years ago.

I dont think Painter makes the team, I think hell be available during the season if we need him. Lineman is a good question too. McKinnie Williams Birk Yanda Oher Reid Osemele Gradkowski I think were pretty set but i could see the argument certainly for a 9th.

Its a good problem to have for sure as, atleast in my opinion, were one of the deepest teams in the league currently, and usually that goes a long way to success.

I havent sat down and done my entire roster yet, ill do that after TC closer to the actual cut. Those two areas in particular are really intriguing me already though.

I think the weight gain will help him out muscle some db's. Some of the greatest wide receiver lacked speed but their route running made up for it. I was told that all routes should look the same once u take the 5 steps off the LOS like head movement, steps taken, foot placement. Torrey Holt from the Rams was a great route runner and paid attention to detail like how far the db played off him, which technique the db used coming out his back pedal, he also know which db played aggressive and the most important he could read defenses.

Lets not get ahead of our selves here... We need to see what Doss can actually do on the field before we talk about cutting Boldin and replacing him with an unproven 4th round player. If Doss makes a big impression in 2012, I think that's when you consider doing it.

    That's not true

2011: Boldin, Evans, T. Smith, L. Williams, Doss, Reed (suspended for Week 1, but made the team)
2010: Boldin, Mason, Houshmandzadeh, Stallworth, D. Reed, Marcus Smith

The Ravens have opened the season with 6 WRs on their roster each of the past two years and there is no reason to believe that trend won't continue for 2012.

Great discussion for the NFL version of "dog days," guys, but keep in mind that one of the most important factors in who sticks & who goes where is the roster's injury status--which is completely unforeseeable. Another is who becomes available after other teams cut down rosters--also nearly unpredictable. If there isn't at least one major surprise re the Ravens' final 53 then I will be majorly surprised.

You think the Ravens will pay Q that money after next season? I am not talking about this up coming season but the following season. My opinion was based on money not skill set bc we all know Q is the better Wide receiver. People kill me when they bring up where someone was drafted. Want me to list some late round or undrafted pro bowlers or some 1st rounders that never sniffed the pro bowl or was out of the league before their 2nd contract? I think it's 14 players in the HOF that was not drafted. It's around 40 that made the HOF that was drafted in the 4th round and later. Yes some made it back when it was less teams in the nfl and the NFL had more than 7 rounds.

In today's NFL you almost have to keep 6. Plus the Ravens kept 6 the last two years. Ability to play ST's is a factor but, I'm willing to bet they keep 6.

Agreed. Especially when at least 1 (or 2) of them will most definitely be ST's contributors.
