Re: Ravens promote DeCosta to assistant GM
We Ravens fans are very fortunate to have these two men, along with other scouts and FO personnel etc., in Baltimore. Keep in mind that Ozzie, although many think he's near retirement or leaving for the college (Alabama) game, was only 56 in March. DeCosta is 41, so we have two great minds tending to the team that we love. Enjoy these years Ravens fans because we will look back on them as a great era in Ravens history... Bc

Re: Ravens promote DeCosta to assistant GM
Our FO continues to do a fantastic job of running this organization, and I am fully confident that DeCosta will do a good job whenver Ozzie decides to retire. I just hope we can get 1 or 2 SB's in the new decade.

I love Eric DeCosta but I wouldn't mind if he kept that 'assistant' title for another decade. Ozzie is still Ozzie and it will be a sad day when he does decide to leave.

Lmao what does this even mean?
Still happy for the guy, i dont think he gets enough credit with our drafting success.
We will find out just how integral he is to the FO when Ozzie is done.Lardarius "The predator" Webb

Change in title usually means more cash.
Wonder if Ozzie is thinking about retirement and this is the preparation.
In any event, good news for sure.

Re: Ravens promote DeCosta to assistant GM
This is more of a formality, as he already got the $$$ with his new contract.

Re: Ravens promote DeCosta to assistant GM
True. The best example of that is Jerry Reese with the Giants. The Giants kept him around for almost 15 years before promoting him to GM. Ernie Accorsi finally retired in 2007 and we got to see what Reese was able to do on his own. 2 Super Bowl wins later I'd say he's been pretty damn good.
