Re: Ravens sign five players, release five.
Bruce Figgins was mainly a full back at Georgia, but could maybe fill our void as a blocking tight end.

Re: Ravens sign five players, release five.
seems odd to get rid of one of the better UDFA TEs for another one already. Im not sure how this time of year works though, could be some mutual agreements to move apart based on the reality of actually making the team. Provo could very well end up on a team this year, but probably wouldnt have made the Ravens.
well that probably explains it.-JAB

Re: Ravens sign five players, release five.
I never really watched Nick Provo play, but all the scouting reports I read said that he's an athletically limited receiving-first guy who couldn't block to save his life. Doesn't sound like the kind of 3rd TE we really need on the roster... we already have 2 blocking-challenged TEs with reasonably good pass-catching skills.
What we really need is an Alge Crumpler/Martellus Bennett/etc type, a blocking-first guy. No clue if one of the two TEs we picked up today could be that guy, although Figgins certainly has the size.

That's too bad they released Freeman. Like someone said the other day, it would be cool to have a linebacker named EL Toro. :)

Re: Ravens sign five players, release five.
There is so much that could have gone on, that we will never know, and really shouldn't know.
Gotta accept that the FO liked the potential and brought people in, and then the coaches or checks&balances decided something else
Who knows, could be anything from out of shape, to an inappropriate remark to a cafeteria worker, not following directions or extra painkillers. But that is not my concern or speculation.
I thank them for coming in and wish them well, and welcome their replacements, and I'm sorry that I only just learned Eltoro's name, I guess you weren't fast enough to cover the slot as a LB.at one point of my life I was exactly Pi years old
