Tea Party ousts another senior liberal GOP in primary

Who said the Tea Party is dead. Well, someone in here did but I forget his name.

Anyway, the Tea Party and NRA ganged up on defeating 6-time Senator Lugar in the
Indiana Primary who was backed by the GOPs liberal establishment.

He was so friendly with the DEMs that they are praising him and calling for his supporters
to support their candidate. He was so friendly he sat with OBY on a foreign trip and voted
for his 2 supreme court nominees.

He was so friendly he voted for spending. Murdock won by challenging the constitutionality
    of medicare and well fare.

He voted to end the GOPs filibuster on the DEMs Dream Act.

Only prob now is he's broke but so in the DEM candidate and they have tight fights coming
    up in 6 nearby states.

The Tea Party also forced the GOPs Senior House member Orin Hatch into a general
    primary.

The party's liberals are dropping like flies and they're expected to gain a lot of seats
    in the Senate race.

Insiders say Lugar didn't take the challenge seriously enough.

Except he will never win the general election in WA.

Same thing played our in DE 4 years ago.

Consider that a +1 for the Dems come November. So much for the GOP taking the Senate.

Its indiana but you are right about it hurting the GOP. Last time i looked Lugar had a significant lead over the Dem in polling for a general election where the tea bagger murdoch was losing to the dem ina general. Lugar used to be a sure republican senate seat. Dick Armey just put this senate seat into play for the democrats. Thanks Dick!

I'll make a small wager, that Murdoch wins this seat. $25 to the winners favorite charity?

You might want to read up on murdoch. He has very little general election appeal.

Sure but the bet is that when you lose you have to start a thread with a title of my choice.

If Dick Lugar and Orrin Hatch are considered liberal, I'd say the Tea Party has been wildly successful.

We never said the GOP would take the Senate. In fact we had them down for 8-11 seat pickup
    hardly enough.

The DEMs own politicol.com poll has GOP up by +2 seats and Rasmussen has them up
by +3 seats in the Generic Congressional Ballot.

Dick Morris said GOP will win control. He also predicted a land slide for Mitt due to
the undecideds that never vote for the incumbent..

The link above also said that DeMint is rallying the troops to give a lot of money to
Murdock so don't count him out just yet like a certain one said the Tea Party was dead.

Look for the Tea Party to oust Boner and Mitch McConnell when their time comes after all the caving in with the compromises like the debt ceiling, cap n trade, budget cuts of only $30B or so when the Tea Party wanted over $1T.

McConnell was scared to death of the default gimmick when DEMs wanted to raise the debt
ceiling and threatened to shut down the gov't and stop soc sec and military pay checks with
all those guys fighting and dying. Damn pricks.

I'm tell yoos, these guys heads are flying off.

Lugar was very liberal voting for those justices and helping to kill his own party's
filibuster of the DEMs Dream Act plus voting for the buyouts.

Hatch voted for the buyouts too and caved in with the rest of the GOP.

That said, I agree with Hatch that he's the best one to fight repeal if the SC doesn't
blow it up but there are times he is conservative like saving Clarence Thomas' ass
and times he's a plain old liberal caving in on spending.

As usual when you omit your own links, you don't pick up the facts in the links that
    are posted. Facts like this:

it remains to be seen whether Donnelly can raise enough money to make it a truly competitive race – given that Democratic donors must also fund much more competitive Senate contests in Ohio, Montana, Missouri, Wisconsin, Virginia and New Mexico.
