Re: US and England agree to release oil reserves

Here it is. The light bulb deserves a thread of its own. The gov't gave
Phillips $10M for devising it says its affordable for everyone
and claims it can last a decade.

Yea, and we believe in global warming.

The old light bulbs seemed to last a year or two for pennies, hmm but they did use more power to do so.

I believe in global warming, I just have a minor point of contention with what is cuasing the warming. Silly me thinks that great big ball of burning gas that supplys this planet with nearly all of it's thermal energy might play a part.

The science behind AGW also supports the sun playing a part so you are keeping consistent with the new and improved rational JB. Well done.

Ok, lemme go into a bit more detail. That big ball of burning gas, and the Earth's path in the solar system, and therefore our distance and angle to the sun account for 99.99999999% of the climate change. people and volcanos account for the .0000000001% that is remaining. I know you will say that is not what the science says, but I have seen NOTHING that directly connects the dots they wish to connect. I see a lot of coorelation but no causation. There is also the big mountain of data that shows the planet has warmed and cooled to very large degrees for the entirety of it's existance, which pre-dates life, let alone the burning of fossill fuels.

NOW you've gone and done it, he's going to go pull out that internet survey that says 90% of all "scientist agree on GW' when only 30% responded to the survey..

And it will be from MSNBC.

And it turns out that $50 price is wrong cause retailers don't know how much it will cost or if it will last a decade for sure.

Consumers sticking with traditional bulbs will have to buy about 30 over that time. At $1 a bulb, that would be $30 – far less than the $50 cost of the LED.

You guys would be hard pressed to find something I quoted from MSNBC. Not saying there isn't something somewhere but I really don't watch MSNBC as I don't usually get home until 9:00 most nights. Anyway there are far better liberal news sources than MSNBC and if you guys knew anything about the liberal media you would have far better amunition than the typical MSNBC rant. Calling out MSNBC just shows me how little you about what media is really out there and is really just an eye roller for me.

Not only did gas prices drop, as offshore exploitation increased, during Bush's tenure. Also, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve simultaneously increased by over 200 million barrels (creating Obama's play money).
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

It was a joke Galen. Taking it seriously so you can say how little someone knows about the media is an eye roller for me...

Of course saying people don't understand, fully comprehend or don't have all the facts is your only defense when you get called out.
