Re: OBY heads west young man, after boost in polls

Well Spammy - I knew I was gonna get hit with that one but gotta agree with you on those acts and I don't object to the 8-hour work day act either -lol. People used to work longer hours than that and 7 days pr week.

Seamstresses in NY sat in their own blood when it happened and weren't
    allowed to take breaks.

My grand father was subject to child abuse and forced labor. His mom
died while his dad was at sea and he and his brother were put in foster
homes that used kids as labor for extra money. They ran away and the
authorities chased them and brought them back. This was in New Orleans
around 1890-98 until their dad came home and claimed them and brought them back up here.

But the bad part is the Federal Reserve Act and IRS or do you like
paying taxes like some libs in here?

Actually the rest of the post is the reason for my reaction. He clearly disagrees with the measures listed, and he did nothing to separate those measures from the child labor act or women's suffrage. The implication is that all of those things are equally deserving of scorn. All I did was agree with him, and in doing so, maybe made him (obviously not you) think about whether or not he should sweep everything a politician he doesn't support into one lump or maybe look at a person issue by issue.

If you follow the thread, you could CLEARLY see his point of posting that was to talk about the Federal Reserve Act.

You could have just said what I quoted above, inside of focusing on what the thread was not about and derailing it.

Yea, Spammy, I deliberately left them in there as part of it all and let
you pick out the parts you don't like for discussion. That's why it's called
a message board. Unlike Galen, I don't leave out the parts I don't want
you to know about or not furnish any links or references.

I said I agreed with you after you called them out and illustrated why
but the rest of the acts are destroying the country for reasons listed
    above.

I WOULD LIST SOME OF THE HAMSTER'S GOOD THINGS IF THERE
    WERE ANY.

HEY SPAMMY - We both need to re-think the Child Labor law because it

had nothing to do with child labor. It was an attempt by liberal socialism to
take more rights away from the States and to heavily tax industry.

In fact, the States had already eased up on child labor by 1920 prohibiting
them from working around dangerous machinery and in theaters and shortened their schooling to include a summer vacation. My parents
didn't work during the 20s as children although my dad pulled a wagon
full of pies his mom baked to sell around the neighborhood.

Things are not as they seem. The SC rejected Wilson's act twice before
it finally came into being much later.

    _______________________________________
Strategy of Communism in 1916 (TODAY IT IS MODERN LIBERALISM)

According to the "Woman Patriot," a paper then published in the City of Washington, the promoter of the Child Labor Law had boasted that in her legislative drives she never let appear on the front of the movement the real intent of the propagandists. That is the basic strategy of Communism

The Child Labor Act had no relation to child labor, because there was in objectionable volume no such thing. After the census of 1920 the Department of Labor made a boastful report to the effect that since the taking of the last decennial census so many laws of States had lengthened the months of school required; had set such severe conditions for a youth to qualify for work during vacation, had so completely forbidden work by minors in theatres and like places and prohibited working with

    85

dangerous machinery, that the so-called child-labor evil had been all but wiped out.

BTW Galen - don't gloat over that 8.3% unemployment
rate too much. It's still the highest it's ever been for such a long period since the Great Depression and that is after he said we needed TARP $$ to keep unemploymnet under 9%.

It went over 9% with TARPT $$.
