    Jameel McClain back to OLB?

Jameel McClain posted on twitter :

It's wat we knowRT @Artj97: Rise & Grind. Mini camp #2 . I'm excited to get better today : ) I love my new position. Let's get it...!!!

Do you guys think that means he could be moving back to OLB to replace Suggs. Would that mean Ellerbe will be starting also?

    Interesting.

Anybody have any other insight into this?

It could just be something different based on scheme. It sounds like Pees is much more of a traditional 3-4 guy than a hybrid 3-4 believer like the last couple of DCs we had were.

That's what I thought, but I'm no twitter "guru".

I agree with GOTA though about Pees. He is much more of a traditional 3-4 guy where the two OLB's are more of an extension of the DL (stand up DE's essentially) and their sole purpose is rushing the QB. This bodes well for Upshaw, Kruger, and (hopefully) Kindle.

Now that's interesting. Jones might be a little more versatile than he's looked so far.

I've been anticipating that they will take a hard look at Albert McClellan on the inside.

I think so too. I think he's battling with Ellerbe for the top back up roll.

Nigel Carr & Josh Bynes should be in that mix as well.

Ozzie confirmed that at the post draft press conference.

You're right, I should have looked at the RT before posting this. Art Jones is playing a new position in camp. I think it just has something to do with the new schemes Pees is installing maybe.

Re: Jameel McClain back to OLB?

Yeah Art Jones is moving to safety....

On a serious note, I think this just means that Jones is moving over to become a true 5 tech DE, to share reps with McPhee (btw McPhee has been injured for the past few weeks according to BR.com)

I think we are going to see a lot of rotation in the front 7 this season. The starting Dline is likely to be Kruger (OLB), Ngata (DT), Cody (NT) and McPhee/Art Jones (5 Tech). Then you could be seeing guys like Ryan McBean coming in as an option at 5 Tech or to give Ngata a breather. Sergio I think will be coming in as a 3rd down rusher.

Elerbee is supposedly in much better shape, he looks a lot slimmer than he did in 2011. Ray lewis has also lost weight, I think you can expect our ILB's to be dropping back in coverage a lot more in 2012, this may mean Jameel McClain is going to be strictly a 2 down LB for us. All of this is just here say at this point, but just my thoughts.

With the backup nose position being...Kemo-out of the league last year, Tyson-7th rd rook, Baptiste-undrafted rook, im guessing maybe he's getting some reps at the nose as opposed to just the 5 tech.
