Re: HHS Says Religious-Affiliated Organizations Must Cover Contraception

    Here's more:

Obama Shatters GOP’s United Front On Birth Control

Schisms are emerging within the Republican Party after President Obama’s announcement last Friday that he would tweak his contraception mandate to ensure that religious nonprofits aren’t forced to pay for an employee’s birth control coverage. And as GOP leaders push to repeal the requirement entirely, the White House is welcoming that battle.

The shift is looking like an act of political jujitsu as Obama has not only unified his base but splintered the GOP coalition, which initially appeared united against the President’s rule. Obama won over the Democrats and moderate Catholics who criticized him, while maintaining the support of those who backed the original rule. As an added bonus, he has turned some Republicans who initially opposed his policy against their own leaders.

Not surprised you would resort to tying this to racism, but I think this falls into the"false equivalency" category.

How does any of this answer. "What gives the POTUS the power to mandate it?"

All this is is a distraction by the 0bama Administration. There are numerous problems to focus on within his Admin but he lit firecrackers in his bedroom while his basement and entire first floor are on fire. And the media happily obliged...

Yup, you're right about that. This will probably lead to a new topic, but here are just a few:
    http://news.investors.com/Article/60...ding-spree.htm

    http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics...ficit-promise/
“This is big,” wrote White House director of new media Macon Phillips in a February 23, 2009 blog post, ”the President today promised that by the end of his first term, he will cut in half the massive federal deficit we’ve inherited. And we’ll do it in a new way: honestly and candidly.”

Indeed, President Obama did make that promise that day, saying, “today I’m pledging to cut the deficit we inherited in half by the end of my first term in office. This will not be easy. It will require us to make difficult decisions and face challenges we’ve long neglected. But I refuse to leave our children with a debt that they cannot repay — and that means taking responsibility right now, in this administration, for getting our spending under control.”

The 2013 budget the president submitted today does not come close to meeting this promise of being reduced to $650 billion for fiscal year 2013.

The president noted in that 2009 speech the Obama administration inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit.

The deficit was similarly $1.3 trillion in 2011, is projected to be $1.15 trillion in 2012, and the president’s budget claims it will be $901 billion in 2013.

George Stephanopoulos asked White House Chief of Staff Jack Lew about this yesterday:

STEPHANOPOULOS: Now, tomorrow’s budget’s going to make it clear that that promise will not be kept, not even close, really. The deficit will be well over $1 trillion for the fourth year in a row. Why?

Yeah he needs to distract from those through the roof jobs numbers that came out last month, soaring poll numbers, a huge political victory with the payroll tax cut and a GOP primary season that now has Rick Santorum in a national lead. Right now is probably the worst time to distract for Obama in a long time.

Actually what I think he is doing is using his political winds to solidify his liberal base with a policy that strongly supports women. He's doubling down and he is winning the debate.

Between December 2011 and January 2012, the number of Americans "not in the labor force" increased by a whopping 1.2 million. That was the largest increase ever in that category for a single month
Have you ever thought to look deeper into what the government tells you... or do you just do that when a republican is in office?

Speaking of Galen's unemployment figures, even if they're right, that
number is still higher than when he came in.

And as Rush says, since when do we celebrate millions of unemployed
    Americans like OBY does.

And that 8.5% figure comes $5T in debt later.

And the latest Rasmussen poll shows a 59% disapproval rate for OBY
amongst Catholics. Six of 10 Caths disapprove and this stunning loss
of Cath support has to concern him. The Cath church had supported
O BUMMER CARE to an extent. This gives them something to fight vs.

This thing has boomeranged into OBYs face. He threw the dice and
    lost - big time.

or you can put the bottle down and take a reality approach to life:

According to a survey, conducted between Feb. 8-13, 61 percent of Americans support federally-mandated contraception coverage for religiously-affiliated employers; 31 percent oppose such coverage.

The number is similar among self-professed Catholics surveyed: 61 percent said they support the Obama administration's rule, while 32 percent oppose it.

But c'mon G...please, please what does Fox News say??? Please give me my Fox!!!!

    Well Fox agrees:

The Fox News Channel has featured a stream of right-thinking pundits blasting the Obama administration for infringing on “religious liberty,” but Fox’s own national poll finds top-heavy public support for offering birth control coverage in health plans.

By a 61-34 percent margin, those surveyed this week approve of the Obama administration requiring all employee health plans to provide birth control coverage as part of health care for women.

Sixty-seven percent of women surveyed, and 65 percent of Catholic women, supported the contraception/birth control requirement. Fifty-three percent of men surveyed endorsed birth control coverage.

It's really game, set, match for this thread fellas. Sorry about you losing your liberty and all that.

Re: HHS Says Religious-Affiliated Organizations Must Cover Contraception

LOL @ GALEN- That's a GOV'T RUN ALPHABET NETWORK SURVEY.

The same CBS Network that lied about Rathergate and fired Rather.
It only hurts when I laugh.

Their numbers are more skewed than gov't reports and as we have said
many times, it's the way they word the polling to get the answer they
want, like when a lawyer leads a witness and the other guy objects and
    the judge says sustained.

And as has been proven many times, these gov't run polls poll a lot or
even mostly DEMs like the early exit polls in the Kerry election that had
him winning by a land slide but he lost.

The Rasmussen poll above is more correct than any other poll and was
spot on in the last election and he came the closest to calling the GORE
    re-count vote.

More phony GOV'T numbers and polls by Galen

And now you say 65% of females favor it? What happened to that 85%
you pulled out of your ass above. If correct, at least the 85% came down and in a hurry. We'll take it as it goes even lower. Thanks Galen. ILMAO

Seriously, no one is taking him seriously.

Damn, Rush's quote above sure was right about OBY wanting to cut defense.

Here he wants to cut our nukes by 80%. That's equilvalent to FDR parking the entire pacific fleet in one spot and daring the Japs to sink it which they did.

And not to change the subject but gas is climbing to $4 and that's an
83% increase in prices since OBY took office.
