Interesting Belichick comments on AFC Ch. [down marker, 4th & 6th diamond front]

Belichick has some controversial comments in today's "Patriots All Access" at Patriots.com.

In Part 1, http://www.patriots.com/media-center...a-1e0220ddc4eb [URL might not work] at 6:30:

Question: Did it ever go through your mind to call a time out and ice the kicker?

Belichick: Yeah it did. We thought about it and the way the play happened on the second down play when Sterling knocked the ball about it then on third down Flacco scrambled. But the down marker was still on second down for some reason. Then he threw the incomplete pass and I think there was a little bit of indecision as to whether it was third down or fourth down. The scoreboard might have actually had third down on it too, but it was fourth down....By the time they sent the field goal team out there, it was a little bit late, they seemed a little bit rushed...
What's new about this interview (and this post is the first one as far as I know that points it out) is that all the national debate and commentary here and on other message boards has focused on the SCOREBOARD having the wrong down. But Belichick states that it was the DOWN MARKER ITSELF that had the wrong down information!

The next interesting comment Belichick makes is in part 2 of the Patriots All Access, not sure how to post a link to it but you can click on it. Anyway, Belichick analyzes a bunch of plays from the game, but one of the most interesting was the 4th and 6 in Q4 when Flacco went for it and failed. Recall this is the play where Harbaugh shoved Brown. This comes at 12:16 in part 2 of the video:

Belichick: Defensively on this we stemmed into what we call a Diamond Front where everybody was covered on the line of scrimmage - all the linemen were covered. Actually, we went into a three man rush on this so ...

Question: So you give them one look before the snap, then you kind of skip over - maybe it confuses [The Ravens] a little?

Belichick: Right. [Belichick then diagrams how each potential receiver is double teamed and Flacco has literally no man to throw to who is not double-covered.]
The All-22 clip on this is very instructive, clarifies the coverage, and it explains how Flacco was fooled before the snap with the "Diamond Front" switch.

It's a shame Harbaugh doesn't provide this kind of play-by-play analysis, it would be entertaining.

Harbaugh cant provide this type of analysis because he doesn't possess the acumen of a Bill Belichek. He's still learning on the job.

This is what happens when you hire an out of the box yes man (by golly I love it Steve, I'll tell CAM right away) who has
nothing but special teams experience. That's why he fights so hard to
save CAM every year. He knows little about offenses or defenses.

He leaves his coords alone to do their job but he wouldn't know what to
    say or do anyway.

Bellicheat was way over his head and apparently's CAMs head too with
the double switch statement. Nobody on our side picked it up.

But all teams give you a quick look at their D then switching seconds
before the snap. They call it different things but they switch. Ravens
    still have touble reading them.

All that said and in fairness to HARBs, like posted above he's learning
in his first 4 years. Bellicheat didn't do so hot in Cleve the 4 years he
    was there. They hated him.

He excelled many years later and hopefully HARBs will too.
