    Referees for Sunday's Game

Looks like we get Alberto Riveron on Sunday. First Hispanic Ref in the NFL.

ESPN page two had him ranked #3

Anyone know anything about him and his style? Will the boys be allowed to hit Brady?

Apparently he likes to throw the flag a lot.

If that's the case then whoever the pass rushers are need to be extra careful not to hit Tommi in any way that isn't clean.

Anecdotally I've seen a few games where he's been quick with the PI flag. Ordinarily that would scare me but Torrey has been money at drawing those this year. If we benefit from a shady PI here or there it will just be payback for the last decade.

True and if the Pats are really playing McCourty at safety then I don't think they have a corner that can hang with Torrey's speed.

I'm sure Brady has already called him on his cell and let him know he doesn't like to be touched and will be talking with him often during the game.

Not sure where you heard that, from the research I've done.....

Through 15 games this season and had the following stats.

    15 pass interference penalties
    2 illegal contact penalties
    5 roughing the passer penalties
    1 personal foul penalty

The underdog also fares very well when he is the head official. 13-3-1 ats his last 17 games.

In the coaches press conference today, the Pats DB coach said McCourty has/will play LCB in their base defense and go to Safety in the nickle & dime packages.

Based on the way calls have gone this season, I don't think we need to worry about the refs.

I read that in another thread on here actually. I didn't go snooping around for stats on the guy.

    Interesting.

So, do you see McCourty lining up on Boldin or Torrey?

If the refs call an even game....we win!

My only concern... he may show a little preferential treatment to Aaron Hernandez.

Ooooh! I did not just go there.
