I would like to see him take off more though. I think that it is necessary.

Re: Defense bails out Flacco again

To be honest, my gut reaction to the writer's column is, "Sour grapes."

I do have a couple thoughts, FWIW-

    >alien, you said, "It's gotten personal for the media." I think it's ALWAYS personal with many in the media! Consider when Billick was coaching the Ravens. I think it frosted more than one set of nuts (or puppies) that he came on as he did. The problem (from the media's POV) was, he put up instead of having to shut up.

    >The writer's arguments shot themselves in the foot. You can't say the Ravens win as a team, and then say they shouldn't have won because of Flacco. You can't talk about how much a genius Wade Phillips is and then ignore the fact that the Texans lost. You can't say Flacco is an "entitled" QB and ignore his contributions over this season.

The reality is, Flacco is not an elite QB, but he's hardly the useless piece of human garbage that many want to paint him as.

The bottom line is, the writer is not much of a cerebral football analyst as she desperately wants you to believe, more someone who writes well without the depth of understanding of her subject.

Of course, this is all just one guy's opinion...

    3) His receivers are never open! Some of those completions to Boldin and Lee Evans were amazing throws -- but Flacco had to make amazing throws because
That back shoulder throw to Boldin was perfect and he made a hell of a catch. But I've yet to hear him get props for the throw, just how great of a catch it was by Boldin which it was. Had Rodgers thrown that pass people would be all over it. Same with the Evans catch.

We all love Rice and Yanda but IMO they were much worse than Flacco in this game, yet they would never get raked over the coals like Flacco is. Obviously Yanda is still recovering from really tough injuries and there weren't holes there for Rice but neither one gets 1/1000 of the criticism that Flacco is taking.

To me it was as simple as protection, or lack of it. When Joe has a clean pocket, he's pretty damn good. When under duress, not so much...

You guys can blame Cam all day if it makes you feel better but the players could not execute.

And if giving up that many yards is 'bailing out' the offense, please don't do it this week!

Does Joe have to throw the ball and run downfield and catch it too....Did she not notice the six drop balls during the game ?? I guess not !! DROP BALLS kill any kind of momentum the O has going and leaves them in third in long all day ??? Mind blowing .........

Well folks, I'm thinking that this guy isn't the only Raven who sees what a lot of us so called Flacco bashers have been seeing. Go find the thread that has- Ed Reed Says Joe Flacco “Didn’t Look Like He Had A Hold On The Offense”

Well I guess you should go root for another QB that is available. Make sure that you find one that has gotten you in to the playoff 4 years in a row. Also find one that has one of the BEST home records at Home. While your at it find one that has an OC that can get out of his own way. Also name another Baltimore QB in the ENTIRE history of Baltimore QB's to have the record Joe has as a starter.

Good luck... Some of US Baltimore fans are so freaking spoiled that they will cut their nose off to spite their FACE.

You can try all you want to force your view on me. But Ed's comment was ONLY a Snip. Ed should have kept his mouth shut. You should be ashamed trying to use a clip that is taken out of context.

Bash all you want... But please tell me what QB you want here and we could get here that could be better than Joe. Name The QB's that have been in the playoff the past 4 years in a row.
I dont care about the passing stats and FANTASY crap. Wins and Losses is all that matters in the real world. While your at it tell me what starting QB that has had a winning record each year in the 1st four years.

I'll give you a few that HAVE NOT!!!

The fact that we got a team back here and we are MOANING about a QB that is 44-20 in the regular season.
