Oher and Birk might have saved Corrente's life

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/201...d.round/1.html

"Before that game, I went to coach [John] Harbaugh of the Ravens, and told him I'd like to talk to a couple of his players if it wouldn't be too much of a bother before the game. I told him the story, and he was in disbelief. So they brought the two players who were in the scuffle with the Steelers that first week, Michael Oher and Matt Birk, out to talk to me. I told them, 'I just wanted to tell you that you actually may have saved my life.'

    Crazy story

    Here's the fight

Rarely do I cheer a ref but I'm pulling for Tony Corrente to beat cancer, make a full recovery and ref again in the NFL.

That explains it....I was wondering who the referee was in the Ravens / Bengals game and then in the Saints / Lions game...I couldn't remember him before. I guess the name didn't ring a bell, it does now, because his appearance has drastically changed from the treatments.

I wish him all the best...

    Great story.

And why does Oher always seem to be in the middle of great stories? :)

I like that he shared his story and thanked them, but in all reality he should be thanking TP and the steelers for being poor losers, otherwise that fight never happens. At the end of the day, its just a game, hopefully he wins his battle and recovers quickly.

The moral of the story: Get in more fights and knock over more refs in the process.

Read that this morning in amazement. Hoping he recovers and is back reffing next year.

Tony, throw the red flag so we can reverse the decision. We want you to live to throw yellow flags at the Steelers man... Bc

I agree. Hate to see anyone have to battle that unless, of course, it's Bill Leavy.
