too much tied up in a runnunback for my liking, i would love to try and get up under on ave $10mil a year, and i dont think i would go 6 years, 5 years $40-45 if possible

That is far to much for a running back. I am thinking 4 years in the 30-35 million dollar range should get it done. Of course there will probably be some fluff money and years that bump the contract up and make it look bigger than it actually is. Some unlikely to be earned bonuses and other incentives.

Sounds about right to me, you can bump it a small bit as Rice is a better player then Williams

This isn't Madden. You have other contracts and the cap to consider.

You said it yourself, RB's careers are short. No sense in overpaying if your don't have to and put the team in cap jail.

:word it would be the standup thing to do. tagging rice would make the organization look kinda petty, imo. they can afford to give him a decent deal. we aren't talking suggs/ngata money here. i am thinking something close to what deangelo williams

so see if hes still productive from now till the end of the season? im confused.. or you mean you want him to play a year under the Tag? that would be a huge mistake. Rice wants to be a Raven give him a longterm deal. Use that tag on someone like Grubbs. If you tag rice and cant resign Grubbs then what? Then if you let Rice play a year under the tag you have Rice,Flacco,Webb all URFA next season. Idk i think it would be a bad idea. He deserves the money give it to him
