Re: AFC Seeding???
If we go 13-3 we get 1st seed. PERIOD.
Lose 1 game and we could drop to 5th seed. Maybe.

Re: AFC Seeding???
More than likely. That said, if NE loses to Tebow and the Ravens screw up in SD, while the common opponents tiebreaker will be tied, Baltimore will still win based on SoV if all other games are wins (assuming Hou loses to Cincy and Pit loses to SF)
So, the Pittsburgh win over NE won't matter in that scenario.

Re: AFC Seeding???
Don't think so.
We'll remain #2, but NE and Hou will swap providing the Texans beat the Bengals.
Houston and New England are 7-2 in conference, Baltimore are 6-2.
All three win next week, let's say - all 10-3.
Houston will go 8-2 in conference, Bal and NE at 7-2.
"Three or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)
1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference."
Houston then takes #1 again, but Bal then takes #2 over NE based on common opponents percentage - 4-0 vs 4-1.
Bal can claim #1 for their own in two weeks time if they win at San Diego - Houston play Carolina that week (providing all do win, of course). So, the Ravens will draw conference with Houston and clinch common opponents over New England.
Another quirk this week - Pittsburgh can clinch a wildcard (albeit in a long scenario), but the Ravens can't in my estimation (largely due to the loss vs Tennessee and one less AFC conference win compared to Pit - 6-2 v 7-3; Jets and Bengals if they lose and the Ravens win mean they're out of contention, but Ten can win via H2H, Den with AFC conference record [Bal can still go to 7-5 despite win and Den can reach 9-3] and while Oakland at best could only tie AFC conference record with Bal, they could still win common opponents [currently 4-0 v 3-0 in favour of Oakland]).
We'll have to wait until San Diego to have a possibility of anything being clinched.Last edited by Tyrian; 12-05-2011 at 10:52 AM.

Re: AFC Seeding???
all you need to know is that if the Ravens win out, they will be the number one seed.

Re: AFC Seeding???
Ravens best bet is to have the Steelers lose one more game to ensure they get the division, but I honestly think the Steelers will win out; Cleveland x2, Rams, and @49'ers. Either way, I can certainly see it coming down to Ravens-Steelers again, whether it is Baltimore as the #1 seed, having the visiting Steelers, or Baltimore losing another AFC game along the way, and having to visit the #1 Steelers, for example. ( This is what would happen if Steelers and Pats won out, with Baltimore and Houston dropping one each )
I still believe Pittsburgh will be their biggest competition along the way, as I personally believe Baltimore can handle the Texans, Broncos, Jets, Raiders, or the Patriots. Although, I think the Patriots would also put up a tough game especially if it were in New England.
Here's hoping Baltimore wins out so that the road has to go through M&T.

Re: AFC Seeding???
As long as the Ravens win out! The Squealers have the same record as the Ravens. If the Ravens lose a game and Pittsburgh wins out, we are a wildcard team and play away games. We need San Francisco to beat the Steelers cuz I don't feel very confident that the Browns or Rams will.
