    Jim Leonhard out for season

NY Jets safety Jim Leonard, former Raven, is out for the season with a torn knee tendon.

sorry to see this. Leonard was signed by the Ravens as a free agent before the 2008 season as depth and possible punt returner; by the end of the year he was starting and was involved in two huge turnovers in the playoff win at Tennessee.
he and Bart Scott followed Rex Ryan (and the big paycheck) to the Jets.

Patellar Tendon tear. Same injury as Mark Clayton.

Could be a career ender. Such a shame.

2 years in a row he ends up on IR.

When you try to play safety in the NFL at 170 lbs soaking wet these things tend to happen. He was never going to last as a full time starter.

Hence why letting him walk was the right move.

He made an interception and then fell to the turf. Wasn't even touched. Sucks for him. Leonhard was one of my favorite Ravens while he was around and I've kept up with him since.

Jets fans don't seem too concerned, minus the leadership aspect he brings to the team

definitely a good pickup for Ozzie even if just for the one year. don't think he got much $ here (guess the J-e-t-s paid him).

The way I remember it he wanted a guarantee to start and Oz wouldn't give it
to him. When Rex got the Jets job he got there in a NY minute.
