    In the Gresham play, he was still establishing possession while in the end zone which means he has to go all the way to the ground with the ball, just as he would in the field of play.
    That's exactly it. Since Welker established possession before he entered the endzone he's now a runner. A runner just has to break the plane. A receiver has to make the catch and hold on to the ball all way to the ground.

    The Calvin Johnson Rule is not hard to understand, yet Cincy whiners just won't accept that Gresham did not catch the ball, per the NFL's existing rules. Even Collinsworth on Inside the NFL would not dispute that the officials made the correct call, but just bitched and complained about the rule itself.


    Yes: it's a dumb rule.

    Yes: Welker scored a TD

    No: Gresham did not
