How about the Offense?
No Sacks and hardly and pressure in the face of Flacco all game long! In the past few weeks the O-line has really held up nicely giving Joe time to csan the field.
Flacco (like in the Pitt game) was freakin CLUTCH on third down (7-10 84 yds. 1 td). He also had two throws (one to Dickson and the TD to Pitta) that were in tight windows
Boldin came through on third down, Lee Evans FIGHTING for the first down, Pitta and Dickson with great catches.
Ray and Ricky running hard breaking off runs towards to end of the game (as much as you'd expect against the 9'ers.) along with Rice's clutch catch near the sideline.

Re: How about the Offense?
It was a solid game with a conservative gameplan against a very good and aggressive defense. They helped the defense a lot, too, usually getting a couple of first downs even on the drives that ended in a punt.
No turnovers was big. The Niners were +17 going into this game in turnover differential. They take it away a lot and don't usually turn it over. Because of their offense, they rely on turnovers to win games. Not giving them one put the level of difficulty higher for them.

Re: How about the Offense?
Oline really held their own and what about those repeated clutch 3rd down conversions - awesome. Joe looked pretty sharp for the most part.

Re: How about the Offense?
Does anyone have a link to the Lee Evans first-down play? I'm out of the country and couldn't see the game, but I'm reading about his great effort in picking up a key first down. Thanks.

Re: How about the Offense?
At the beginning of the season McKinney said they it would take about half of season for them to start gelling. Looks like he was right. I don't even remember the oline having a penalty last night.

Re: How about the Offense?
The drive in the late 3rd/early 4th was just epic. Driving the length of the field without the benefit of a big play or big penalty was a back-breaker for the Niners.
The national media will only be happy if the QB puts up 350 yards with 3 TDs but when you have a defense this good all you need to do is just what the Ravens are doing: control time of possession, convert some 3rd downs and score just enough.

Re: How about the Offense?
This was the most cohesive we have seen the offense play all season. No false starts (I think), no OPI, Rice and Ricky (who's slow as sin, but still) running hard, the line opening up holes on runs and protecting when Joe dropped back. It seemed like the players bought into the gameplan and played within themselves to execute it.

Key stat: no Ravens turnovers. Alex Smith is not going to beat the Ravens otherwise, and the 9rs didnt play to their strength, which is running the ball.

Re: How about the Offense?
Very solid game by the OL. I was expecting more out of the 9ers pass rush, but I guess that isn't their thing...or our OL was just great. What pressure there was, Flacco handled it well.
That was the difference between the Ravens and the 49ers. The Ravens have already played and beaten team as tough or tougher than the 49ers. The 49ers have not played anyone like the ravens.
