POLL: Cain in front of Romney
Herman continues to battle past the allegations and lead Romney by
3 % in latest poll.
Seems like the country isn't buying it.

Re: POLL: Cain in front of Romney
Regardless of whether I like Herman or not, I LOVE the more they try to tear him down the more his lead grows or stays consistent in some states. The Libs gotta be going CRAZY!
I donated to his campaign just so his fundraising numbers go up while they try to throw dirt on him, and he's not even my candidate

The neutral European with no vote :ire:
Old news possibly but I only saw it today
A country with a population of twenty seven million is one of the "small insignificant states around the world"?
Being from an even smaller country myself, you're not going to win friends with butchering names to Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan.
But even I know Uzbekistan allowed US troops to be stationed there and allowed an air corridor for military flights, so an ally
Just saying.
And I don't know who their President is either. And he's right it won't create jobs. And people don't need to know all this info, he's right you focus on the most important tasks and you have advisors for the rest
But it's a needless comment, haven't seen other candidates do this and realy, it's not going down well this side of the Atlantic at all.
A nation has a name, it's a bit arrogant and imperialistic to go around looking down on them. And this was an ally, not some rogue state
But as I said, no votes

Re: POLL: Cain in front of Romney
Interesting perspective. Unfortunately, I don't see any connies on this board reflecting on the opinion of someone that is not American....which speaks even to a greater degree to your underlying point.
Cain is the new Palin and the extreme side of the conservative spectrum will give him a free pass on his ignorance and his questionable conduct. Palin perfected the "I'm not stupid, its the gotcha media" line which connies embrace without question. As far as his harrassment charges its also no problem because connies see harrassing women as typical behavior and its really just about the women trying to get a settlement anyway so blaming the victim will extricate Cain from any respsonsibility.
Truth is though, the Dems want Cain in the race. We were disappointed when gotcha girl herself finally tapped out but think we have an even better candidate in Cain. I don't see him actually winning the primary though and would be surprised if he even makes it that far. He has no real campaign structure in place, his infamous 999 plan became 909 and then has recently disappeared from the national conversation . He has comments like you mentioned above piling up daily and then the whole harrassment issue still developing. Additionally, he has the Republican establishment against him. He has resoorted to playing the victim card like Palin perfected and is now playing the race card. He is a very gifted PR person and he is interesting to watch from that perspective in regards to how he redirects his failings onto another individual. For example his harrassment problem is because Perry or Romney are "threatened by him" so they started the whole thing.
Interestingly, probably the next issue he will have to face which is maybe more significant than his harrassment issue, will be his funding. He is being largely funded by the Koch Brothers. On the surface, it appears to be possibly a situation where wealthy Americans are buying themselves a candidate. It will be interesting to see what story unfolds.
Americans have been running around terrified of "socialism" for the past three years when its Fascim that is the real threat. Koch brothers are significantly buying themselves into American politics and they might have bought themselves a candidate too.
To your original point, Americans would benefit immensely from traveling internationally more. I don't think you would see such arrogance from our country. Everytime I have traveld out of the country I am always impressed by the amount of young Europeans on their "gap year" spending months if not a full year traveling through Latin America and Africa....really traveling in tough and challenging places. We hardly ever see young Americans. It sad but international experience is not something Americans tend to value. I wonder if Cain has ever stepped out of the U.S.?

Re: POLL: Cain in front of Romney
In one sense, it reflects the old Ugly American concept. It amaze me how little we know about the rest of the world and how much they know about us; language, culture and even geography.
On the other hand, America's number one problem right now (an argument could be made that it's the only problem that really matters) is the economy. Right now, I'd prefer leaders who can fix the economy over leaders who know the names of the President/Prime Minister etc. of every country out there.

Re: POLL: Cain in front of Romney
LOL - Galen thinks he's the only person that went outside the US. Cain, a multi-millionaire never went
outside the US? Another general statement pulled out of his ass w/o a link as always.
I was in Europe both western and communist eastern when he was still in diapers and I
was speaking a foreign language in Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico and all the
Carrib islands before he ever heard of them.
I was also in the UK before Admin STeve, Irish Raven and UK Gordon and I almost made it to
Vietnam but my entire unit came back at the end of the war so I didn't go over. Also been to
Hong Kong and Tahitti and I stood over the sunken Arizona in the Pacific.Last edited by AirFlacco; 11-04-2011 at 11:47 AM.

Re: POLL: Cain in front of Romney
NO.
BTW, the latest ABC/WASH POST poll has Cain rising above the allegations and has
him tied with Romney.
I think Romney is the one who leaked the story, not Perry or the accuser who won't
even come forward, which is why the country isn't taking it seriously. No facts from
a phantom accuser.
Romney, another liberal is scared shitless of him.
Liberals say conservatives support him because he makes them feel good about their racism. Excuse
me, if they were real racists Cain would have never gotten his foot in the door. He got my attention
when he said he would have died under OBUMMER CARE because he would have been denied
treatment by the death panels. That was my big argument during the debates. Many
conservatives like his 9% plan.
